someone earlier suggested the steven weber played one brother of will's and john slattery had played another, different brother.
that is not the case. both of them played sam truman - the same brother of will's.
steven played him for the first time tonite and john played him six years ago.
was i really that unclear?
edit: doodle it was you! you originally said (before you edited your post) that will has two brothers - suggesting, i thought, that john slattery played one brother and steven weber played another. my post was saying that both actors played the same person, sam.

a little bit, yes
edit: no robbo. I re-read it and the confusion for me, came from your post stating both actors had played Sam.
Robbo-"actually both john slattery and steven weber played will's brother, sam truman."
Since Webber just played the part on tonight's episode, it might have been clearer to state that Slattery was the original Sam Truman and in tonight's episode the part was being taken over by Webber.

John Slattery was also on last year's brilliant-but-canceled show Jack and Bobby. He also played the role Paul Rudd is about to play opposite Julia Roberts in the original production of Three Days of Rain. Very talented guy.
He and Dossett could be twins.
Last night's episode was the funniest in ages.

OUCH. Really? I take your word because I rarely see the show. Then that has to mean that the writing quality has dropped considerably. I didn't find it partiulcarly funny and thought I caught an off episode.
I thought it was an off-night too, especially for Debra. I love them all, but she's usually my favorite.
But I did love Blythe Danner and her Blue Marilyn.
What did she say about it? It was something like, "I started making them to keep from killing myself, but now I just like them."

I think it was "I started making them to ward off thoughts of suicide, but now they're just fun!"
Well, I was on the right track. :)
