bythesword - thank you for sharing that - it is a perspective that I can't have being removed from the immediate experience of it like I am - and I'm very sorry that you and your loved ones have had that to deal with in your lives.

I think my own perspective is coming from a selfish sense of frustration concerning the state of the world. I am ready to rant and rail at the ignorance and stupidity that seems to run rampant. And even more enraging to me is the complacency that many people seem to have concerning it all. It is obvious that there are some truly impactful things going on in the world right now - even in our own backyard - and so many seem willing or capable to just go about their business with blinders on, unaffected by it all - or not caring. Maybe I'm jealous. As an empath, it is impossible for me to just ignore the reality we're living with.

Your points are well taken, and have given me things to think about - and in the end, maybe that's the most important thing of all.

Peace.

Two Xmases ago, I was at a boutique where extremely expensive hand-bown glass Xmas tree ornaments were sold, and they featured one of the twin towers tied together with a ribbon. It was obstensibly a 'memorial' ornament, but to my mind it was just as crass as the toy or the T-Shirt. It was something like $80.

I'll bet I'll see them again this Xmas.

I have to echo the sentiments of many on this thread. That is disgusting.

A couple of weeks ago, ESPN showed footage of the attacks as part of their countdown of the top 25 sports headlines of the top 25 years. I was eating at a restaurant when I saw the footage, and my eyes teared up. I didn't think the footage would effect me as much, but it did. It was a dispicable act, thats for sure. And capitalizing on it is just plain tasteless. If I see anyone selling anything like that, I'm likely to flip out on them. That's disgusting.

Timote, I have to ask: What the hell do the attacks have to do with sports headlines?

well, any question of it being a coincidental thing is dispelled with the finding of this latest toy.

And further substantiates my theory that it's an Al Qaeda thing.

If I ever run across anyone wearing that shirt, I think I'll become violent.

I thought about this a long time. The thing is this kinda exploitive stuff has been going on throughout human history. In Egypt the pyramids & other gravesites were robbed by people supposedly of the same religion. Throughout the Middle Ages "relics" were sold of saints & martyrs. People paid for the bld soaked clothing of murder victims and pieces of rope from executed criminals. If there is a profit to be turned from others pain & suffering there will be both a market & a marketer. Some individuals ( i don't want to call them people) are greedy AND ignorant .

Sabrelady - you are unfortunately very truthful. And thirdrowcenter - I've already realized that I would have to immediately turn and move very quickly away, or I would end up in prison.
