Didn't you just love him this morning in New Orleans?
"Where are we going to get the gasoline?"
Honestly, is that your biggest concern? The man needs to set his priorities straight.

Maybe he should do it with Gov of LA - who just announced just 10 minutes ago that "she's commandeering all of the state school buses' to finish the New Orleans evacuation -- only 5 days late Gov!

Yes, Greg--make sure you ONLY blame the Democratic governor.
Let's spin this one good, kids.

Posted: 9/2/05 at 12:33pmThe list of people who let down the area is endless - it's time to help the survivors. There will be more than enough time to play the blame game later.

Posted: 9/2/05 at 12:40pmWhich means we need to do the all-American thing and organize help ourselves. The Red Cross, United Way, Second Harvest, Habitat for Humanity, Direct Relief International, The Salvation Army- the list of private organizations helping out is enormous, and they need food and clothing as well as money. What the government can't do the people will accomplish.

Most of these are the poorest of the poor... I guess if you're in this group, you are expendable. G-d's mercy on all of us.

Posted: 9/2/05 at 12:52pmAre clothes needed?? I have nearly a closet full of old clothes that I've been meaning to donate somewhere (ain't got no car here, which makes lugging that much clothing difficult). I remember during the tsunami that people said, 'don't donate clothes.' Any info on who to take these clothes to? I'll rent a f&cking car.

I'd check with your local Salvation Army or the American Red Cross. They'd know.
Most of these groups work in concert so they are aware of each others efforts.

According to the Salvation Army, they're not taking in-kind donations right now because they're unsure of the people's needs. Money donations, like gift cards, can be spent on what's needed. Same goes for the Red Cross. Reasons given in the link below.

No, it's like this-
Vice President Cheney
Speaker of the House Dennis J. Hastert
President pro tempore of the Senate Ted Stevens
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
Secretary of the Treasury John Snow
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
And on and on...I can't remember any farther.
ETA- Actually, I think after that it's Secratary of the Interior Gale Norton. Maybe.

Nope...Speaker of the House.
You know, Dennis Hastert...who said yesterday that they just shouldn't bother to rebuild New Orleans cause it would be too expensive.
God Bless America...
