Posted: 1/24/15 at 9:39pmToday Amazon featured free streaming of the series to celebrate their Golden Globe win, so I finally got to watch this and found it pretty terrific. The writing is mostly very good, and the performances are across the board great. Jeffrey Tambor deserves all the acclaim he's been getting for this performance- everything he does is so beautifully simple and the opposite of showy. I also love Judith Light's work- in the earlier episodes I found her funny but strangely too broad, but everything clicked for me in the last few episodes. Already can't wait for season 2.

It's not the most expected choice for a character who's older, but given the character's history with Maura, it made a lot of sense and made me like her more.

Posted: 2/6/15 at 11:34pmI'm on episode 8 and I'm obsessed. I'm so into it. I can see myself in al the characters but as a gay man it's still a struggle I don't understand and I find that so interesting.
