My heartfelt condolences go out to the Travolta's at this very sad time.
I know next to nothing about the church/cult that they are involved with.
I have an issue though, what is the church/cult stand on plastic surgery or vanity surgery? I plainly see their members are having work done, and yet they oppose medicine?

does anyone remember that story a few months back about a family being sued because their daughter died? apparently she had diabetes or some illness and they chose not to give her medical attention because their religion didn't allow it... so they were sued for parental neglience or something like that.. does anyone remember that story?
this also kinda reminds me about The Exorcism of Emily Rose movie... where the priest was put on trial for not letting Emily use medication and used exorcism instead...
"There certainly wasn't anything about their religious beliefs that would have prevented them from seeking the best possible medical attention and care for Jett," the source continued. "John and Kelly took no options off the table in terms of taking care of their son, medical or otherwise."
And John's corporate and commercial lawyer, Michael McDermott, told Radar on Sunday that Jett had, in fact, formerly used anti-seizure medication.
"They gave him an anti-seizure medication Depakote for over a year," he told the site. "It extended the seizures out to over 21 days. But ultimately the attacks got closer and closer, they had to give more and more medication, and it started to cause organ damage so they stopped."
Looks like they did medicate him.

He looks so much like John in that picture.
A 16 year old boy needs 2 fulltime nannies and a baby monitor when he sleeps, but they will only admit that he has seizures. Uh huh.
10 bucks says "the source" in the Access Hollywood article is a Scientologist handler.
I just wish people would let them mourn without there being speculation and scandal surrounding the family.

But the mourning is real, while the speculation is . . . well, speculation.
Which only 'works' for those who buy into such nonsense.
Some nice family photos of the Travolta Family in today's Mail.

Q, is it nonsense? Isn't it true that Scientologists do not believe in treating mental diseases with medication? That they don't believe in mental illness? And I'm not sure but I read that they don't believe in taking aspirin either.
I'm speculating that if their beliefs contribute to unnecessary pain, long term illness and/or deaths of their children, there's a problem.
Of course the mourning is real. Losing a child is probably the worst thing a parent can experience.
But this death has opened a pandora's box of speculation, due to the beliefs of Scientology. I don't think it's unnatural for people worldwide to be speculating at this point, at the same time as being saddened by the death.
I just wanted to add that I think it's awful that the speculation is so public so soon, and all over the media. I hope the Travoltas are able to grieve their own way. And they may be pointing their own fingers at themselves which is worse than others doing it.
And they may be pointing their own fingers at themselves which is worse than others doing it.
That's the thing. Though they may never say it publicly, I am sure at some point the parents will be questioning their own belief system and blaming themselves for his death. That's worse than anyone else pointing the finger.
"FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) — Jett Travolta's body shows no sign of head trauma and his death certificate says he was killed by a "seizure," an undertaker said Monday, as the 16-year-old's celebrity parents prepared for a Florida funeral.
Glen Campbell, assistant director of the Bahamian funeral home handling the remains of John Travolta's son, told The Associated Press that the body is in "great condition," despite police officials who had said the teen hit his head on a bathtub.
Authorities didn't release the results of an autopsy performed Monday, but Campbell saw the body and the death certificate, which was based on its findings.
"The only cause of death that was listed was 'seizure'," he said."
Death certificate: Travolta son killed by seizure
This has reminded me (too much!) of the death of a friend on mine in his mid 20's. He'd had epilepsy for years but had gone a full year w/out a seizure so, for the first time, his parents went down to Fla in an RV and left him home alone. His body was discovered 3 days later- he's had a seizure and his airway blocked. That's all it can take, just not having help immediately available.
