Tripp fits right in with Bristol's brothers, Track and Trig.

I do not support the name, but with that kind of familial naming history, we're lucky that it's not Zamboni.

In certain East Coast elite circles, "Tripp" is a nickname given to a young man who is named after his father & grandfather- indicating he is the "Third".

It's probably because circuit breakers trip. Though that's spelled with one 'p', not two. I wonder if she saw the word written down in the past tense, "the circuit breaker tripped." and mistakenly thought the present tense was spelled tripp.

Maybe she DID have two babies out of wedlock! I remember some rumors that Sarah's baby was really the daughter's kid. There were pictures of Sarah Palin when she was supposed to be 8 months pregnant and she didn't look pregnant at all. Of course, I think the National Enquirer was the source of that information...It's all so very "all my children"-ish.

There was a whole long diary on Daily Kos (I think) that pointed all evidence toward that. Bristol missed a LOT of school that year, no one knew Sarah was pregnant till the end; Sarah's water broke in Texas; but she made a speech before flying back to Alaska, then drove another 45 minutes to the airport, etc; Palin never released her medical records, etc.

All signs point to loose teenage vagina, but who knows if we'll ever know?

I heard some magazine is offering Bristol around $300,000 for her baby's picture. Boy, I guess Tripp is no Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. That's chump change in baby picture payouts!

I went to college with a multitude of people named Tripp, Muffy, etc. People actually do answer to those names (poor souls).
