Has anyone else gotten the chance to catch this? I went yesterday and loved it. It's smart, funny, and brutally honest. Charlize Theron and Mackenzie Davis both give spectacular performances. I'd love to hear what others here thought.

No, but I saw an article (maybe a news piece) that the film is recieving blacklash for glossing over the ending.
I guess the end (which was ruined for me) explains that Tully is in the lead character's head, thereby making her a victim of mental illness - which is not addressed.
Sounds like hogwash to me, but can't say for sure.

Fo anyone else reading this thread, please please please don't Toggle over dramamama's spoiler above-- it really does spoil the ENTIRE reason for seeing the movie.
I just caught this film yesterday-- it's quite a trip to go on, that the movie trailer only barely brushes the surface of. We always knew what great work Charlize Theron was capable of, but here she combines the honesty of MONSTER with a casual sweetness that makes you root for her to climb through all the crap in her life to make it to the other side. She alone is worth the price of admission. I found Mackenzie Davis' performance a whole lot less satisfying or believable, and on its surface, I would have thrown Tully out of my house a whole lot sooner than happens here.
It's a tough story to tell, so thank god it's got Diablo Cody's wacky gift for dialogue and Jason Reitman's light commercial touch with montages and feel-good music tracks to ease your way through the morass. A sterner film maker would have made such a story unwatchably bleak. Does it earn its unexpected Third Act twist fairly? I think there are a lot of slip-ups along the way that had me saying no, I don't think so. But I like the conversation it can and has started, even if it didn't stick the landing.

Dramamama - I don't quite agree with the reasoning behind the backlash against the ending because
none of the characters, including Marlo herself, were aware that she was suffering from such severe mental illness and therefore addressing it beforehand would have been impossible/wouldn't have made sense. I know that it's very important to treat depictions of mental illness carefully and with respect, but I see it as a non-issue in this case due to their lack of knowledge surrounding what Marlo was going through (and this is coming from someone who has battled severe anxiety and depression for years and continues the battle today, and is normally among the first to call out something that isn't right). It would have been more of a problem had Marlo/her husband/brother/sister-in-law/ etc known about her mental illness prior and it was still not addressed.
