My writer friends have a lot of trouble getting published, and their stuff is better than the fanfictiony world of Twilight. Meyer said she got published pretty fast. How did a first-time writer have such zero trouble getting her rather uninspiring work published and promoted? Seems shady.

nygrl, J.K. Rowling was an unknown when writing Harry Potter. I mean, yes, the Potter books are by far better and more compelling works of literature then Twilight. But, it isn't unheard of for a first time author to make it big.

It was recognized that she potentially tapped into a commercial market - and the very things you decry are what make it so.

It was a gamble on their part that has paid off handsomly.

So a religious organization doing their darndest to keep a whole group of people from having civil rights is a fake problem? Glad you're here to clear these things up.
