Fernandez and Williams have been a joy to watch. Tomorrow's match against Townsend and Siniakova will be one to watch. Glad I have an afternoon call time so I can watch it.

"Osaka has been killing it.  Anisimova is still there too, she plays later today.  Happy for Auger-Aliassime.  Pulling for Sinner tonight "

Anisimova looked very good tonight with very easy 6-0,6-3 win tonight. I can't believe she faces Iga in QF. I wonder how many mental demons from Wimbledon will be in her head. Sinner literally embarrassed Bublik which surprised me after I saw Bublik look great last Thursday. Then again, Bublik was not playing Sinner Thursday -lol

Well, the 2025 US Open is over and no surprise with the champions (Alcarez & Sabalenka). The finals were ok but not really memorable. I was glad that Anisimova put up a decent fight and did not get blown out like she did at Wimbledon. Kudos to her for beating Swiatek in SF. I hope she makes another final in the near future, and the third time will be the charm for her winning the championship. Alcarez almost made it look too easy; only set he lost the entire tournament was the second set in the final. Alcarez or Sinner have now won the last eight Grand Slam titles, hope some player steps up and challenges them in 2026 (maybe Ben Shelton)

On a personal note, it was great going to the US Open again, last time I was there was 2022. It is more expensive for me to go since there are travel expenses involved so I am grateful when I can go.

So, did the media coverage conceal audience reaction to Trump, as has been strongly suggested by my Instagram feed?

"So, did the media coverage conceal audience reaction to Trump, as has been strongly suggested by my Instagram feed?"

First, media should have never mentioned concealing reaction to Trump. Plenty of POTUS of both parties have been booed when they attend sporting events. This event is held in NYC which is very liberal so not hard to guess the reaction. It was also filled with "Hollywood" and sports stars who tend to be liberal also. It was a news story Trump was attending so just give the obligatory one shot of Trump at the event and move on. Glad I was not there, long lines to get in due to security of having Trump there.

Rewatched the men 's final today now that it is up on YouTube.  Upon second viewing it was even more apparent how focused and intentional Alcaraz was in winning this tournament.  He was a man on a mission and made all the needed adjustments after Sinner's similarly dominant performance WImbledon.

What these two young men are already capable of at their relatively young ages is truly impressive.  We should have many years ahead of a great rivalry that continues to advance the sport.  It will be interesting to see if a few of the other top players can up their games enough to insert themselves into the mix or if this will be more similar to the Navratilova-Evert rivalry.

I’m a big fan of Sinner and was disappointed he lost.  Has anyone ever been to the Miami open or Indian Wells?

"Has anyone ever been to the Miami open or Indian Wells?"

I have not been to either, but my brother in-law has been to "Indian Wells" and said it is fantastic.
