Did anyone watch Under the Gunn (or as I like to call it A Taste of Project Runway's Voice)?

I thought all the designers were pretty lackluster although I don't know if that was more because of the challenge or the contestants. I was responding the most to Brady because I do like street style and mixing patterns…plus he ain't bad to look at. Shan's bomber jacket is a piece I would love to own but paired with that dress it looks odd. Blake is fine but he's a little too "design school" for me. Nick made the most horrific choice but picking Oscar who had one of the worst dresses (and styling) I've ever seen on a design show.

The mentors are not my favorite either. I loved Nick on his season but now he seems a little full of himself being "Professor" and all. Mondo was another favorite of mine but his appeal started wearing off during his season of All-Stars. Also I can't believe he's starting an eyewear line because I cannot stand his glasses. And Anya…well the less said about the worst winner in PR history, the better.

I can't speak much to the format itself since we're basically still in the audition portion of the show. I do wish they had cut the team picking down to one episode. One thing working against the show for me is setting it in LA. Those were the worst seasons of Project Runway and FIDM is not the best school. I mean LC went there.

This is a note for Lifetime. STOP with the fvcking questions for the viewers to vote on! No one cares and it takes up a quarter of the screen!

I was a little surprised at the double pick for Natalia. She's the nervous, crazy one who came up with a pretty dismal dress. They made it appear that no mentor wanted her, and then voila, two of them wanted her. I'm really not surprised, the show, as all reality shows, is scripted.

This show particularly seems rather scripted. If that weren't the case then I don't know why they couldn't have just done all 15 contestants at once. That Natalia girl was a hot mess and made a fugly hoochie dress.

I loved the time they were discussing if someone wanted one of the designers (can't remember which) and Anya seemed like she wasn't going to pick the person and then she was like "I also want you on my team." Tim didn't even know what the fvck was going on. This woman is not meant to be on television!

I haven't liked Mondo since his own season. He's been very mean in the episodes where he served as a judge. I wonder if they're testing out mentors who could replace Tim Gunn if he eventually tires of Project Runway.

I also don't like it when these designers get a big head. Mondo definitely thinks who he is, but I think Korto is the worst. I remember how humble and shy she was during her season. Now she has a huge attitude. Really huge.

Under the Gunn

"One thing working against the show for me is setting it in LA."

The instant I realized the show's filmed there was a complete downer for me. Also, it's tough not to give into stereotypes when the absolute worst designer of the lot who happens to hail from Hollywood was picked only after delivering an Oscar-worthy performance. It wasn't just editing; Natalia's the shoo-in drama queen of the cast ala Helen Castillo from the past season of PR.

And I do believe that Oscar received Nick's pity vote. But, what do I know...perhaps he's a diamond in the rough. I'll await the next round of cuts before deciding on my personal faves. I know very little about fashion but wasn't exactly wowed by the first group. Even the better executed designs were questionable in taste to me. There's just something about a gold lame and black fabric combo that screams NJ Shore/Vanilla Ice tacky.

Over the auditions, ready for the business end of the season. And finally, I hope that Mondo and Anya bring more to the table as mentors than they brought to the season opener as stylists. Mondo showed up for the cuts dressed as a clown and Anya a slattern.
