These threads are becoming BKLYN and WICKED threads to me. It's in our faces everywhere else we go. This is where I come to relax.

Actually, I'm the kind of weirdo who finds all these arguments- when they're actual arguments and not people shouting at each other- to be really fun.

I look at Bush and see a man who hopes he does not win.

Why do we have to have 20 threads about the same thing, though?

Well; at least theres a end in site. And it is something important. It isn't about Idina. It is about the future of our country. I for one don't think we are talking about it enough.

We've talked about it plenty. It's not like anyone is going to have their votes changed by discussions on this board - I think that is abundantly clear. Four threads saying Vote Bush and six threads saying Vote Kerry is really a waste of bandwidth. And for those of us who come here to relax, it's very stressful.

Like I said, Rath, it all depends on what you find stressful. I like venting here. C'mon, the election's tomorrow. Can you really blame everyone for having it constantly on the brain?

It's fine to have it on the brain. Let's keep it to sixteen threads max here though. We ALL have it on the brain, but some of us want to get away from it sometimes.

Years from now, you will look back on this election as one of the defining moments of your life. You may wish you had been more involved.
Listen to Dame and educate yourself. If you're not old enough to vote, the message you should be sending to everyone you know is "Vote, because your life depends on it. Vote because MY life depends on it."

I am VERY politically involved. I've manned phones and gone door to door as well as read about all the candidates in detail. I've done all of this work, even though I'm not old enough to vote. I've done it to try to imporve my country. Please let your voice be heard tomorrow! Even if it's just to add support to the popular vote. Every vote should matter. Every vote should count.
Keep the peace, take care of each other, and may you find your promised land.

I saw a flyer today for a really nice way underage people can participate- babysitting for people who need time to get to the polls. Now there's an idea I never thought of.

Tomorrow, it will be done with and people will be arguing about the winner.

Well, papa, it is with great pleasure that I will cancel out your vote for Bush with my vote for Kerry. All said and done, if I have to be neutralized, I'm less troubled picturing you as the neutralizer....

As one of Bush's biggest detractors, I still bristle when someone sinks to the level of calling him a Nazi. In my opinion, that is over-the-top and offensive. It polarizes and alienates people that might otherwise be supporting Kerry. Or even those of us who solidly ARE in the Kerry camp. Nazi/Hilter name-calling invariably amounts to skating on thin ice.
And it, inevitably, as papa pointed out, is the kiss of death to any thread by stopping the discussion cold.
