Vanessa Carlton. Does anyone else like her? I think she is very talented, both vocally and on the piano. I love her new song "White Houses"!!!!! Have it stuck in my head right now.
I used to love Michelle Branch but all of her songs sound the same. She has great talent on the gutair though.
All in all, they both have great talent, and they get extra points for writing their own songs!
If it was a "you only have one bullet" scenario, I'd ask them to put their heads together so I could kill them both. I hate them both, especially that wailing wench Carlton.
Vanessa Carlton. I don't like Michelle Branch because she put's an ending to her sentences that shouldn't be there. Example...........I love you-ah. Have a nice day-ah." It gets SOOO annoying. Plus Vanessa just has a better voice
How can you tell the difference????
One plays the piano and one plays the guitar. That's how.
That "brand" of singer-songwriter types just puts me right to sleep.
And yet your avatar at the minute is Joss Stone........
I'm KIDDING.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Most popular music today puts me to sleep.
Vanessa. Michelle Branch annoys me. Although I must say I hate it when artists come out and an immediate competition is created between them and another artist.
Ex. Alicia Keys-India Arie.
Britney-Christina (although thats really no competition)
Jill Scott-Angie Stone

One of the many many reasons I loathe the Carlton is she was dismissive of Tori Amos in an interview I read. Without Tori Amos, Vanessa Carlton wouldn't have a career and it would be nice if she realised it.

I am not a fan of either but if Ihad to pick one I would say Michelle cause she seems more down to earth!
I have never liked Vanessa Carlton's music. The lyrics are nice, and appreciate the crazy piano, but I really cannot stand her voice. Really. At all. And I really WANT to like her, because her music videos are cool, but I always end up putting the TV on mute and just watching her dance around to "White Houses" because the song is so unbearable. Oh well.
Michelle Branch I didn't love when she first hit the scene. Good lyrics. Mediocre voice. No stage prescence whatsoever. But now, I frickin' love the chick.
Her album "Hotel Paper" has some really amazing songs. I highly recommend listening to "Empty Handed (Drowning in My Misery)". It's one of my favourite songs of all time. I'm also a fan of "Tuesday Morning" and "Breathe". Everything on the album is good though. Seriously, check it out.
I'm kinda equally fond of both...I kinda wish they'd do a duet together. *shrugs*

does neither count?
Both of them are actually more enjoyable to listen to than most fake pop stars of today.
Vanessa Carlton. I was obsessed with her first album (before I discovered Broadway), and I saw her in concert, which was amazing.
