Again, not Venice. I think that's Verona, although it may be Padua.
This was taken from the deck of a cruise ship last summer (07). Its the Bell Tower in Piazzo de San Marco and the Doge's Palace.

The interesting thing was seeing how people in Venice handle it - there are pictures of locals carrying on with their daily lives, shopping and sitting at the outdoor cafes. (can't link to the pix, but you can find them on msnbc.)
