Again, not Venice. I think that's Verona, although it may be Padua.
This was taken from the deck of a cruise ship last summer (07). Its the Bell Tower in Piazzo de San Marco and the Doge's Palace.

The interesting thing was seeing how people in Venice handle it - there are pictures of locals carrying on with their daily lives, shopping and sitting at the outdoor cafes. (can't link to the pix, but you can find them on msnbc.)

Wow, interesting photos Best12bars. I remember being in Venice in March in I think 2002, and St. Marks had wood planking on legs in the church.
