I highly recommend The Powers That Be, a political sitcom from the early 90s that never found an audience. Cast included John Forsythe, Holland Taylor, David Hyde Pierce, Valerie Mahaffey, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
He and She. A sitcom starring Richard Benjamin, Paula Prentiss and Jack Cassidy. It was 1967. Although it was canceled after one season, it got great reviews and won Emmy awards.
It was my parent's favorite show. There are a couple of episodes online, and a DVD of most of the episodes that's sometimes available.
The same crew created the Mary Tyler Moore Show three years later, and there are strikingly similar elements to the style of the writing and character development. It was a little ahead of its time.
He and She is great. AVclub had a good article on it a while back http://www.avclub.com/article/he-she-great-70s-sitcom-aired-1967-201967
The Green Hornet - 26 episodes - Unlike Batman, it was played deadly serious. It basically introduced Bruce Lee to American audiences. It also had a killer theme played by Al Hirt.
Thanks so much for the article EricMontreal22. Now I don't have to explain the show to people anymore, I can just send them that link!
Tales Of The Gold Monkey - 21 Episodes - Raiders Of Lost Ark Wannabe - Roddy McDowall as Bon Chance Louie owner of the Golden Monkey Bar- Stars Stephen Collins .
