Victoria Jackson and TurboTax

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ellis-weiner/an-open-letter-to-victori_b_517136.html

Very interesting article - I'm in the minority, too, 'cause 80% of me believes that Victoria is a sublime performance artist. Back in the day when Andy Kaufman was doing his schtick, people absolutely believed it was REAL - for a very long time. Even google searches and her wiki page read as "scripted" to me. And with very little actual biographical material. Also, co-workers, friends of her past never really "comment" on her "persona." I believe, like this writer does, that her high art LAMPOON of the "actual bat**** crazy tea party nuts" will eventually be revealed.

(Of course, I could be wrong).

Just my instinct and having seen many brilliant performance artists that most people didn't understand, or "get".

Tiny, having worked with Ms Jackson personally, Brilliant does not belong in the same sentence with her name.

Many of her former colleagues have plenty to say about her.

And Tiny? Reread the article you linked to. The writer does not really believe Jackson is a performance artist. It's satire.

This is how his byline reads:

Ellis Weiner:

Author, humorist, satirist, parodist, scribe, scribbler, redundantist.

If you see the names Ellis Weiner or Andy Borowitz, chances are you're reading satire.

You can look up Dennis Miller's and Nora Dunn's comments on her during various interviews. Not too favorable.

I am Victoria Jackson's fan. Also i am using the turbo tax from last 4 years. I like the turbo tax commercials.
well, Turbo tax is somewhat expensive for me but it is very simple and fast.I have got the free turbotax coupons, so that i can manage to afford the tax software and i can file my tax returns within budget.

The difference between Andy Kaufman and Victoria Jackson is that Kaufman was being being paid to be crazy. Jackson is doing it for free. Who spends decades doing crazy performance art for free? She's a real bigot.

This does annoy me because I always use TurboTax. I guess I'll find another way.

"I am Victoria Jackson's fan"

At least she has one.

Turb Taxis a ripoff. I did my taxes today (The "Federal free" edition) and there was literally NO WAY to NOT pay them $15 to submit your state taxes also. I had already imputed all my data when they sprung it on me so I paid but I've felt like a chump all day.

I do it every year. You do the fed for free. When the state part comes up, you decline, then file it yourself manually. Never had a problem. You must have missed the opt out button.

I assume there was an "Opt out" button but for the LIFE of me I couldn't find it. They hid it well.

Am I missing something, because that first linked article says nothing about Miss Jacksoncauseshesnasty being a spokesperson for Turbo Tax? And when I searched, nothing about her and Turbo Tax came up.

Agreed that there is something weird going on. I must have missed this thread last year, and, as I've been happy using TurboTax the past five years or so, I went searching as well and there are few hits that pop up on Google, and nothing to show that she was connected to TurboTax in any way (though EmilyPowell did post the same thing on some other forum).

Joe, the last time I used the free filing for my federal taxes with them (which was a few years ago) I seem to remember having to log out and then link back to them through the IRS website where they list the various free e-file providers. That may have been an unnecessary step, but it worked then.
