I was talking with a friend and we were discussing how most of the people we know in college are first time voters. Being his "first time", he declared hiself a voting virgin. It made me laugh. What I was wondering is who on the board is going to lose their voting virginity this November. You can count me in!
Come on! Everyone's doing it! You know you want to!

Posted: 10/2/04 at 5:52amthis'll be my first time voting for a presidential election, my 2nd vote ever. i shamefully lost my election virginity on a wild, passionate night known as the California Governor Recall. I gave it all I had but in the end Arnold would come out on top (as he does). It was painful and disappointing, just like first times are supposed to be.

For you first timers, remember you punch the hole next to the name of the person you DON'T want to win.

Posted: 10/2/04 at 2:57pmI lost my voting virginity on a school budget bill that failed to pass by 2 votes. And that, my friends, is my town in a nutshell- a lot of the people with school-age children are immigrants who can't vote, and lots of the citizens are retirees who care about their property taxes and not about the fact that their grandchildren are in an overcrowded high school.

Posted: 10/2/04 at 2:58pmI remember the first election I voted in was a congressional race. I registered as a Conservative then. Now I'm a full-blown Democrat--and former secretary of the Gay Democrats of Suffolk County.

Posted: 10/2/04 at 3:25pmIt'll be my first time for the presidential election. I voted in the primaries, but my candidate wasn't even on the ballot in my state, so I voted for Kerry (my original vote was for Dean, 'cause I live in Vermont now, but he'd already pulled out. My primaries were on June 2 and it was already decided for Kerry, I know, effective huh? No wonder nobody campaigns in Montana...)

I'll be a first time voter this year. I only became legal a month ago, too! I watched the first Presidential debate to get some insight on what they candidates had to offer.
As much as the War in Iraq is critical, I'm looking forward to seeing the candidates views on other topics than the War. I suppose I'll just have to watch the next debate. I'm pretty sure I know who I am going to vote for, but you never know, I might change my mind. That's the point of these debates anyways. To win votes!

Personally I think the 26th Amendment was the biggest mistake this country has made in the past 40 years.
And, no I'm not gonna tell you what the 26th Amendment is. Look it up.

Posted: 10/2/04 at 4:11pmRodney, your first comment on this thread was a pain in the ass and I wasn't going to respond, but really. Must you do that?

Posted: 10/2/04 at 4:11pmUh, why? They're legally adults. If they want to choose who runs their country, the more power to them.

I know they are more likely to vote stupid.

I could say the same for the other side, now couldn't I?
Think what you want; I don't care, but saying that someone is unworthy of the right to vote because of his or her age is more than a bit unnecessary.
