Hey guys! I have always wondered about this question, and have tried very dilligently to research it, but most of the stuff that comes up is worthless crap on ANTI-GAY websites. I have heard many theories: Has to do with Genetics, Is a personal choice, Has to do with you getting mollested as a child. These are just a few I have come across, but was wondering if there was ANY exact evidence as to why people are Gay?? My personal thoughts...
I know I was born this way. I have known since the 2nd grade, although didn't really admit it till late in Middle School. It has never been something I can CONTROL, its just the way I am. I was born into a VERY loving a caring family, that teaches always respect other people feelings, religions, and ways of life. So i personally feel that being Gay has to do something with the Genetic makeup of our bodies.
Does ANYONE have ANY thoughts or exact reasons to why and how this happends. Thanks!!:)

I believe it's our own decisions. We decided to like men or women. It has nothing to do with genetics. Our genes cause hairloss, not who we want to love.
And I know Captain Obvious, and he likes to stir up trouble in order to get attention.

You honestly believe you chose this kinda of lifestyle?? You woke up oneday and said, "Hey, I think I'm gonna be gay!" Seems kind of odd to me that one would do this. I know I didn't choose to be gay, I know I just am. Your response is mind boggling
I think it's your icon Bernadette88.
I give it a bit before Rob and Craig get wind of that avatar and ask that it be changed or they delete it themeselves.
i think that, like white peoples, gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered persons were the result of a botched experiment by a now extinct race of super africans who could fly and spoke every language.
Do I see three heads in the picture?
not quite...the third head got cropped out...
woah... that icon is way more risque than any I ever had. you go bernadett. although, it will be gone in a matter of minutes...

that ones gonna get deleted too. trust me they're very picky. not so much half naked women, but a guy with his shirt off... forget it. they get deleted.

Yeah, I decided to be gay. It wasn't a tough choice.

In the words of John Tartaglia and Rod-"Fabio turned me gay...he is a gay maker"
Who gives a rats ass? To quote a line from a fabulous Broadway show, "We are what we are." Does it really matter what "causes" someone to be gay? Some people like chocolate, some people like vanilla. Some men love women, some love men. It's just the way it is. It's just the way God/nature/fate/whatever planned it.
My question is, why doesn't anyone ever discuss the causes of heterosexuality?

Nobody knows...so it pisses me off when someone even tries to answer this question. Especially those who are not gay.
This is from this fall:

I read your message and was moved by its honesty. I do not know why people are gay but feel like it goes beyond choice, childhood experience and genetics. It has more to do with the diversity of nature. I thought of the Saguaro cacti growing near Tucson, Arizona. Drive through the forest and you will see that every cactus is different from every other. There is a norm on one hand. But you will see some cacti that vary radically from the norm. Such are humans. Human idiosyncrasies extend even to sexuality. It is nature, and nature is never pure. Why do some white women prefer black men? The universe is a soup simmering on a hot stove. Anything can be anything. Problems arise when humans want to destroy that which does not fit their perception of how things should be. That is where tolerance comes in. I am not gay but have a cousin who is. He says the same thing, that he was gay from the beginning. I am a fan of ABBA and disco music. Many ABBA fans are gay even though ABBA was straight. Who knows? Life can be complicated.

What I want to know is why so many people have such a hard time believing it's possible to have minimal interest in sexuality of any kind. Just because a guy doesn't run around bedding every woman in sight doesn't mean he's gay. What's the fascination with others' orientation (unless you want to hit on them) and why does it seem imperative to label everyone one way or the other?
And then there's the old question - if you're getting dumped is it more upsetting or less upsetting if your ex is 'switching sides'?

Yenta, how do you define "good taste"????
I've seen some of the outfits you wear. There's that one number that makes you look like you're a tundra.
No, you're not a homosexual.
