"I think the novel has a sequel."
It may. But the novel is completely different than the movie. In the novel Roger Rabbit is the villain.
I love this movie. I think I saw it in the theater around 6 times when it came out. This is definitely one I would add to the "needs to be on Blu Ray" list.

Apparently there was a spin off, but not sequel, but it sounds completely unrelated to the movie (though it has a title that any of the porn parody producers would love... Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit?)

I believe that Robert Zemeckis mooted the idea for a sequel to Roger Rabbit but he mentioned the toons would remain hand drawn rather than CG.
I wonder if Roger Rabbit would be rereleased under the Disney banner like Nightmare before Christmas has or is the more adult content as well as the appearance of non Disney characters prevent it,

Posted: 6/25/12 at 9:51pmI would guess that the deal with Warner Brothers for the Looney Tunes characters would prevent it actually being released under the Disney banner. I remember that part of the deal included a provision that Bugs received equal screen time to Mickey, so they made sure there would never be any question to that by always having them onscreen together (I would assume it was the same for Donald and Daffy).

IIRC Bugs and Mickey both had to have equal screentime and the same amount of dialogue, think the same stipulation applied to Donald and Daffy.
I'm sure if a sequel ever happens, Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount etc would be happy to license their characters and perhaps include characters who couldn't feature in the first film like Tom and Jerry which WB now owns.
