WTF is Gingerclown 3D?

This one is dedicated to Jordan.

So there is a new comedy horror movie in the style of the 80's (their words) coming out and I'm not sure how to feel about it. Could be either amazing or the worst thing imaginable. I will include some what-the-fvckery names attached to the movie that would definitely do it for me.

Wow. Poor Tim Curry must have fallen on hard times.

Oh Lord. Sean Young. Remember her last (and presumably final) appearance on Letterman? Oy.

Awe didn't he have a stroke? Besides Whoopi Goldberg I can't think of another actor that has appeared in such a wide variety of PAYING material. Not sure how much he's worth, but he must make a mint off from residuals and syndication.

If he's still working for money it's a sad day indeed.

What is Gingerclown 3D? The frontrunner for best film of the year, obviously. The only spoiler now is Nurses 3D. Maybe they can tie at the Oscars next year.

They're both going to lose to THANATOMORPHOSE.

I saw this last night.

I don't know quite what to say about it.

There is no plot. Very little dialogue.



I saw this quote in a review and I think it sums things up pretty well:

Disgusting, beautiful, nauseating, surreal, morose, mesmerizing, haunting, morbid, and soul-shreddingly tragic are just a few words I’d use to describe Éric Falardeau’s film THANATOMORPHOSE, which is equal parts Kafka’s METAMORPHOSIS, Polanski’s REPULSION, and Cronenberg’s THE FLY

I can't recommend it, but I really hope some of you see it because I'm dying to talk about it.

It's a good one, Taz. I have seen it.

Great. Now I have three bizarre and bloody horror films to see. Thanatomorphose looks fascinating in a good (bad?) way, unlike Nurse and Gingerclown in the bad (good?) way.

Absolutely Clyde. That's one of Troma's best series. Next to The Toxic Avenger series.

Troma occupies a unique space in the horror pantheon. They're fun, but admittedly scuzzy. Have you seen Father's Day? Insane and classic Troma.

But for true Troma madness check out Poultrygeist. It defies any kind of synopsis. It's just sheer OTT madness. Must be seen to be believed.

Sean Young is not an actress. She's a punchline. I can't imagine what this film will be like.

Here's the deal, guys. I watched this movie last night and it was the WORST movie I've ever seen. It's not like I expected a great movie or anything but this was unbearable. Not even so bad that it's good but an incomprehensible mess.

The main issue is the writer/director. He's Hungarian and maybe he does love 80's horror movies but he has no comprehension of the English language so a lot of things don't make sense. The actors have weird accents that come and go throughout the film. And if you're going to set up the movie as being set in 1983 then don't style the characters like they are from the 50's wearing letter jackets and driving cars with tailfins.

At first I thought that Tim Curry and the others must be really hard up for cash to do this crap but I'm guessing it was super easy for them. I'm guessing they recorded all their vocals in one day and this weird Hungarian guy probably paid them well for that work.

My advice would be to NEVER see this movie because there is nothing redeeming about it.
