Wake-Up Routines

So what do you do first thing in the morning to get your engine running?

Everytime I get up in the morning, I always put it on the Today Show. Then I put on my iPod and listen to my favorite songs.

I usually don't get a chance to have breakfast in the morning (even though I do try sometimes) so I run on music and the Today Show.

re: Wake-Up Routines

I usually half wake up to my alarm, snooze it, then grab my dog Babs and cuddle with her untill the alarm goes off again.
I always leave my clothes out for work the night before so I can litereally wake up, brush my teeth, throw on my shirt and tie and head out the door......half asleep still...

re: Wake-Up Routines

I get up whenever I naturally wake up, usually betw. 8:30 and 10:00 am. I immediately put on the coffee. While I wait for that, I go on the computer and check what has to be checked.

After those two most important things, it then takes me 2 hours to actually get out of the house, once I finish doing everything else I have to do (shower, eat breakfast, feed bird, make calls, see to any business I have, dress, makeup).

It probably wouldn't take so long to put on your makeup if you weren't dressing up like Divine every day!

re: Wake-Up Routines

During the summer I wake up, run or bike, shower, eat breakfast, waste time, and then watch the View a while late and have my 4th cup of coffee :)

During the school year, I roll out of bed ten minutes before I have to leave, yell SH*T really loud and shower as fast as I can before sprinting out the door to my car.

I wake up, lay in bed for a few minutes, workout, shower, then eat breakfast.

wake up, fire up the bong, do a couple lines of coke, throw on whatever isn't too dirty, and head out the door to my job as a school bus driver.

re: Wake-Up Routines

My morning routine is ALL about my cats.

Luigi wakes me up by running laps on my back. He wants the cat grass, which is in the fridge overnight. So I get up (at 5AM!!) and give him the cat grass. Then Gimble has to have his food on the kitchen counter. Same bowl, same food, but if it's on the floor, he won't eat it. I have to move it up to the counter, and then he knows it's "breakfast."

Then, I fix myself whatever Jenny Craig says I ought to have... and then I go back to bed with the laptop and check email, BWW and do a little creative writing.

Then I get up about an hour later, have coffee, pay bills, and do pretty much everything I have to do regarding "personal business" before 9AM.

By the time the workday starts, I'm already WAY ahead of you bitches.

Did I mention I'm usually in bed by 9PM?

re: Wake-Up Routines

Well, during the summer I don't have much of a routine (roll out of bed in the afternoon, text four people and try to do something other than nothing that day.)

But during the school year, its hear the alarm go off at 6, try and think of ways that I can sleep in longer, sleep until 6:42, throw on clothes and make-up, and run out the door to catch the bus without breakfast or a shower.

re: Wake-Up Routines

I don't really have any kind of routine in the summer, but during the school year I'm up at 5:40, head right into the shower, get dressed, eat, feed the guinea pig, brush my teeth/hair, and I'm out the door by 6:30.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

re: Wake-Up Routines

Wake up at 5-ish to hungry baby peach, feed baby peach. Put baby back to bed. Sometimes sleep for another hour, but usually smoke cigarette/drink coffee, hop into shower, get dressed, feed cats (they are late sleepers, unlike baby).
