Has anyone noticed how many shows this season are about TERRORISM AND WAR? What is the deal.
This week I saw Embedded and Sixteen Wounded. I was impressed with Embedded not so impressed with Sixteen Wounded.
Embedded was intelligent, witty and at least had humor. Sixteen Wounded had Judd Hirsch who is talented but the show was a huge YAWN.

What is the deal?
Honestly. What do YOU think is the deal?

"This week I saw Embedded, Sixteen Wounded and hopefully Assassins."
How can you hopefully "saw" something. Your tenses dear, your tenses!
Art imitates life. That is what the "deal" is.
Namo
The silence at Sixteen Wounded was sad. No one clapped.
It was really sad.
Embedded was a bit different. I liked it because it was written with humor. Wounded put half of the MEZZ ASLEEP until the final Boom. Or Bomb.
Pun intended.

No, honey, no.

I asked, what do YOU think is the deal? I await your reply, with jellybeans.
Honey.
Will you accept a white chocolate rabbit. Just kidding.
I am glad there are shows about war. Embedded made a great statement so did Sixteen Wounded. But Wounded was not as interesting.
People here will like Embedded. A drill sargent who sings show tunes is funny.

Yes, but you asked "what is the deal" as if shows about war and terrorism just happened to spring up OUT OF NOWHERE at this point in time and I was wondering, well, when people ask rhetorical questions it is usually because they have a theoretical answer to the very question that they would like to test out.
So, I asked you, and I shall ask you again, who cares what others think the deal is Corine, what do YOU think the deal is that has caused you to notice that there are all these shows about TERRORISM AND WAR. What IS the deal?
Maggot drop and give me 69.![]()
(ps not being crude quote from Embedded go and see it.)

Hey. Have you ever noticed they give you little containers of peanuts on airlines? What IS the deal?
Corine, have I confused you terribly with my question about your question?

They don't give containers of peanuts anymore. They rarely even give bags. It's the peanut allergy people we have to thank for that, Namo.
What's up with people suing airlines over their allergic reactions to peanuts?

It's like, hey, can't you carry one of those pen-shaped things of the antidote so I can enjoy my peanuts and my second-hand peanut air won't kill you? What IS the deal?
(I was on a flight a few months ago and they did give out peanuts. I felt like a smoker must feel when they light up inside.)

anyone here seen assassins? how do you think it deals with the issues in which it focuses? (i have no theoretical answer becuase i havent seen it, but i am curious)
Not yet. The cast is incredible. Denis O'Hare, Kudisch and Doogie Howser.

What's the deal.(?)
Where to start? (See, a question gets a question mark.)
Namo, pretzels are the new peanuts, unless you're lucky enough to get the fake Chex mix. And no. No antidote syringe allowed without a medical prescription. (Don't even get me started on the TSA.)
Corine, I certainly hope you didn't place a *spoiler* in your SIXTEEN WOUNDED comments. Some of us are looking forward to savoring this show.
Ny04, what's the focus of ASSASSINS? Well, you'll just have to wait until the show is out of previews.
Savor Sixteen Wounded?
I would say sleeping in Sixteen Wounded would be more like it.
Poor Judd Hirsch. He is a fine actor.

Corine. It's "Rappaport" as in "I'm not..."
You have yet to actually explain WHY Sixteen Wounded was a "bore" or a "snore".
Without any substance or quantification as to your views, your posts are meaningless.
WOOO WOOO WICKED IS AWESOME
MAMMA MIA IS AMAZING
Nice thoughts, but so what?
"Poor Judd Hirsch. He is a fine actor and i loved him in this show and Rapport but this show is a snore. A bore."
Rappaport doesn't rhyme so I guess you took creative license.

Corine2
If you are going to go ON AND ON AND ON AND ON about it was a snore and a bore, then you should explain why. While it may be the best manners to post a "review" during previews, it's no better to pass judgements without explaning WHY.
So I ask again Corine2 - WHY?
I did not like the show because it was not well done. You really never care about any of the characters and you know what will happen at the end. It was not written well. The characters are very obvious. I felt terrible for Judd Hirsch as he is a fine actor but his character is not that interesting.
The play was dull. Half of the Mezz was asleep.
If you compare Embedded another show about war to Sixteen Wounded there is a big difference. Both plays are against war.
One is witty, clever and done with an edge.
I really enjoyed the wit of Embedded. Some very clever lines and it made me think. Embedded was a thrill from start to finish.
(All i could see in Sixteen Wounded was a bakery full of cakes and it made me hungry as i am on a diet)

Explain why the characters are "obvious?"
