Looks like an exceptional film adaptation of one of the best books in recent memory. And for Lionel Shriver to endorse it in such a way as she has solidifies that. I can't wait.

Amazing, incredible, haunting book. This trailer bodes very well for a faithful movie version!
Oh this was one of my favorite books...I didn't even know it was being made into a movie! Exciting!

And FINALLY, there's a release date for the US - December 2, albeit a limited one. I wonder if it will go wide in January. At least there IS a release date now. For a while there I thought it might never see the light of day here.
Shriver's praise of the movie is encouraging. That book was one of my most harrowing reads ever. I hope the movie is true to it.
someone just reccommended this book to me! I haven't gotten it yet...good to hear so much positive being said to back it up!

It's a very hard read, but worth the effort. The narrator is unreliable and not always particularly likable, but it's such a well-written book. As it barreled toward the end I found it harder and harder to put down and when I finally did finish, I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks. Lionel Shriver is an incredible author.
The structure of the film is different from the book, but it still packs a severe punch. All the performances are outstanding but the film belongs to Ezra and Tilda. I'm working on the film here in the UK so if anyone is interested i'll post reviews and features from the film here when we receive them
