Do you know of anyone who has ever worn glasses to accentuate their image and not because they actually needed them? Did they ever admit to this?
like Michael Jackson?

My friend Rusty does this all the time. He needs glasses cause he's hella blind, but only wears the fake "emo" glasses.
They're god awful ugly.
His girlfriend thinks he looks "dashing" in them, so he wears them anyway.
I wish I could just wear glasses to be arty, but alas I need them for my semi-blindness... and even so I wear my contacts cause I dont look anywhere close to arty in my glasses.
I do have one friend who doesn't really need glasses, she gets by without them 99.9% of the time, but she still got them. Thats as close as I got for you.
I have black rimmed glasses, the 'emo' looking ones. I wear them sometimes if they look better with a certain outfit of mine, or I just wear my contacts. I got the glasses cause I loved how they looked and they were better than my previous ones. I can't wear them just to be artsy cause I really can't see without them lol.
Excuse me?
I hate when people do this. I know way too many kids who have a prescription just for distance--meaning they ONLY need to wear them IF they're having trouble reading say...messy handwriting on the blackboard, but they wear their glasses all the time and then complain about how quickly they are going blind because their prescription keeps calling for stronger glasses. I can't imagine why their eyesight is going so quickly...

Mine are just artistic looking. Not emo or anything, very dark blue almost black rims, plastic. But I wear them because I need to. I'm hella blind, I can barely see a foot in front of me. But I could really care less. I love wearing glasses, and I look good in them.
I look adorable in glasses but I don't wear them or need them. I just like the way I look in them when I ask my friends if I can try them on.
Why the hell would anyone want to wear glasses?
Haha, ConvinceMe2- I do have to say your post made me laugh out loud. Wasn't expecting that picture.
EDIT: Ah! I pushed a wrong button and I didn't get to finish!
I remember before I actaully had to wear my glasses I wanted them. This is way back in like fifth grade when all my friends (okay, a majority) wore glasses and I felt left out. Some of them even had contacts (which I vowed I would never wear... whoops!) and then there was me with my perfect vision... feeling awkward. Now I have horrible vision and feel awkward when my contacts are bothering me, my eyes get all red and puffy, and I look like I'm crying.
I do this...SOMETIMES...but I do need glasses. I can see fine without them, but sometimes I need em...
I wanted them because they looked cute. I actually wore my friends glasses for a whole day to see what it was like and it hurt my head (yea, I know it was a bad idea) but I got to know the limitations you have when you have to wear them.
mine are for a perscription... they're very weak so they don't make a difference to most people but they make a huge difference to me, more so for close up, but they do help with distance too.
most people think they're fake because they're emo, but i wore them before everyone started wearing the fake ones.
i don't wear them all the time, because sometimes i don't need to see perfectly (like if i'm just watching tv or playing ps2) and i don't like the way they look when i wear a hat lol

My best friend wears non-prescription glasses when she doesn't wear her contacts, she's blind, but I guess it's a physcological thing.
I wear glasses because I need them. But I have a really cute hearing aid that I wear just because it makes me look really cool.

well my eyesite is really bad so when i wore glasses it was for real. But i often use one of those walkers w/ the wheels on the front just to look really cool, even tho i can walk perfectly fine.
maybe it would look cool to wear one big, built up shoe like a polio victim?

Elton John had perfect vision as a child. However, he idolized Bully Holly and so, started wearing glasses to look more like him. They were prescription glasses and did so much damage to his eyes, he has had to wear glasses ever since.
A cautionary tale!
