Weiner is and always was a waste of breathe. Whizzer writes "The texts themselves are a personal issue and completely irrelevant to what he could have done as a politician."
I disagree strenuously - the texts show a lack of self-control, arrested personal development, and a puerile obsession with the juvenile trappings of sexuality ("Ooo! Naughty photos of genitalia!"*) - who wants that in a community leader? Just as Spitzer's failings weren't just personal, but showed an enormous character flaw of hypocrisy - excoriating prostitution while at the same time hiring prostitutes. Immaturity and hypocrisy are not leadership qualities.
But then, I'm beginning to think that anyone who wants to be a politician probably shouldn't be allowed to.

It was never, ever funny. The whole thing is downright tragic. I feel really bad for his wife and his child. He is a victim of his own sickness and I also question the morals of the women who took part in this, it's laughable that they will now go on to paint themselves as "victims", which they clearly are not especially if they were receptive to his advances and continued to engage in the sexual texting and yes I am including the 15 year old girl if that is the case.

When one of the parties involved is a 15 year old girl, the responsibility falls on the adult. And it's not like he didn't know he was talking to a 15 year old.

And it wasn't like she didn't know she was talking to an older married man. She may be 15 years old...but she's far from innocent from the sounds of it.
So the adult tells the 15 year old over text/video chat to touch herself and she does. She had a choice to stop the interaction, end the conversation. She continued to do so WILLINGLY. She had a choice...EVERYONE has a choice. She knew better.
She continued to engage in it. It was consensual and she admitted it, that is why she and her father did not pursue any legal action.
The girl told the Mail that she was opposed to bringing charges against Weiner because their relationship was consensual from her end. The father agreed to go along with his daughter’s wishes.

It doesn't matter.
A person's brain isn't even fully formed until their 20's, with the area of the brain that affects judegment forming last. Which is exactly why their are laws to protect kids from predatory adults who can't control themselves.

Dude. You don't get it. I'm not debating whether he's at fault or he will be charged. I never disputed that. All I said was that the "innocent" little 15 year old knew what she was doing...irregardless of the law.

I am not condoning his behavior, but the fact of the matter is he wasn't having the conversations with himself.
Yes he took advantage of a young girl, but she did have a choice to stop the interaction immediately when it got sexual.
She didn't.
