Good job, Anthony!
BUMP!
I was playing the sexy swipers game yesterday... my internet is finally fast enough. So then I had to go watch Open House. I love that movie. But damn Fantabulous gets stuck in your head so quickly!
I hope there are many pretty pictures from tonight.
Picturetaker, I didn't know there was an interview...
Anthony's WB interview aired on their morning show.
I'm going tonight too!
The WB has a morning show??
Edit: Are you talking about the WB channel, that Gilmore Girls and 7th Heaven is on??
Hope everyone has a great time tonight!
My digital camera is broken, but I just borrowed a friend's. I will take many, many pictures!
We're counting on you, jlc!
Anyone know where we can see this interview?
Tonite was a lot of fun. The play was very funny and heartfelt. The ending was extremely cute too.
All of the actors did a great job, and they're all very talented.
I didn't take any pictures, because I was in the front row and I would have felt awkward taking them. Plus nobody else was taking pictures so I don't even know if it was technically allowed.
Suuuuch a crazy play, 'twas. I mean, I heard it was racy, but whoaaaa. I loved the storytelling technique a lot, too; that sort of chain-link of relationships.
The cast was fantastic. Star-studded to the extreme. I know this is Anthony's thread, but for me, the highlight was definitely Alan Cumming, because I've been wanting to see him live in something for a really long time. He is divinely talented.
Yeah it was very racy. I like the story telling technique too, and how all of the characters become connected in one way or another.
And I agree about Alan Cumming, and I had also wanted to see Peter Sarsgaard and Cheyenne Jackson. They were all so talented though.
I would loove to see a full-blown production of this. Most of tonight's cast would work fine
Ooh lucky you got the front JLC. What time did you get there? I was...maybe 4th, 5th row, almost all the way to the left...whatever row was behind where Anthony sat.
But yeah I really liked it. It was racy, but had some really cute(and I mean aww Full House cute not Brokeback Mountain Cute, Emcee!) and sweet moments. It was just great to see so many talented people there--Anthony, Cheyenne, Barrett, Alan, Logan...nice to know you've heard of Peter, JLC. Apparently he's big and us theatre dorks never heard of him.
Not to mention the last-minute addition of Jerry Dixon! Most of you probably know him from TTB but the first show I ever played was Once On This Island, and he played the male lead alongside La Chanze in the original production. I was so happy he was there.
Sounds like ya'll had a great time. Just the thought of all that hotness in one room is...wow.
I got there around 6:45 probably. I had to take my brother to the bus station at 6:30 so I just went after that, and there were only like four people in front of me.
I am a fan of Peter Sarsgaard. Two of my favorite movies are Man in the Iron Mask and Shattered Glass. He is extremely talented.
Exactly Opiv. No one even published the REAL name of the play..."F*cking Men."
You can understand why I would love to see this actually acted out. Though some of it was. A lot of lights going out unfortunately.
Otherwise this could have been MY Broadway Bares
Well, I can see why you got the front JLC. Considering I had to find 3 seats together, I still had a great view from where I was.
I have to wonder HOW far they would go if this play were to be staged for real; doing lights up/lights down every time something "risque" happened definitely added to the comedic side of the play. A lot of the play is sweet and heartfelt, and I think having *that* must sex actually shown (or simulated, as it were!) would need to be really carefully balanced in order to keep it... poignant without turning it into live pornography.
That said, I'd be curious to see it staged for a lot of reasons, though... if I had my say, I'd tweak the casting a tad. There are some people who just need to be in that play.
Barrett Foa was also great; I'd never seen him in anything before. I'm still like... internally drooling over having seen Alan Cumming perform, though. You know, Cabaret, etc. Logan's range of talent continues to surprise me, as well. He's great.

I know I'm new to this thread, but I finally found some people discussing the awesomeness that was the "Men" benefit last night.
I wasn't exactly sure what I was in for, but when I saw the cast I absolutely had to go. It ended up that I loved the show and hope it's got a future somewhere Off (or Off-Off) Broadway in its future. I'd definately go see it to see how they staged it. (But I worry that the cast size may make it prohibitively expensive in a small venue, where it's best suited.)
I thought all of the guys were incredible.
I had no idea what the title actually was til I saw the sign on the building. .... heh.
I had no idea either...but it's a very fitting title, lol.
Sounds amazing guys... Thanks for all the accounts. Wish I could have been there!
Ditto. And I was right in predicting what it was about!
No, I'm sure if this did become a production they'd probably put the lights out. I mean we'd probably see then pulling down their pants and stuff with the lights on which I suppose could be good enough. But I can't imagine they'd go any further then Take Me Out...seeing nudity, but not actually seeing action.
Em, I'm really not sure if Raul would agree to do this show...sorry. I can think of quite a few others that I'd love to see in the cast though.
Well, um, he has to. :-P In my pretend ultimate fantasy universe. Not for this reason only, but because it would be kind of nice to see him in some guy on guy action that wasn't so laden with tension in such a difficult play. And we can haul Adam back from LA for good measure.
It would depend on the scene. There was the one where the phone rang, and the direction was like "Jack on top of... whoever." You can't really get around that.
