Ditto. And I was right in predicting what it was about!
No, I'm sure if this did become a production they'd probably put the lights out. I mean we'd probably see then pulling down their pants and stuff with the lights on which I suppose could be good enough. But I can't imagine they'd go any further then Take Me Out...seeing nudity, but not actually seeing action.
Em, I'm really not sure if Raul would agree to do this show...sorry. I can think of quite a few others that I'd love to see in the cast though.
Well, um, he has to. :-P In my pretend ultimate fantasy universe. Not for this reason only, but because it would be kind of nice to see him in some guy on guy action that wasn't so laden with tension in such a difficult play. And we can haul Adam back from LA for good measure.
It would depend on the scene. There was the one where the phone rang, and the direction was like "Jack on top of... whoever." You can't really get around that.
Oh yeah! Hehe. He was on top through the whole conversation though right? They'd probably stage it so we couldn't see the best part.
I'll amen Adam coming back from LA for this.
(Though it's less likely he'd actually do it than Raul)
Obviously. Like I said, I highly doubt the intent is to have a live porn show. Highly. Blankets are a beautiful thing.
Quit stepping on my fantasies. :-P
Well, if you're gonna have unrealistic fantasies...go all the way.
<-----
I disagree. Blankets are not a beautiful thing. They sadly get in the way.

I had no idea about the title, either.
It was appropriate, though. And kind of a funny surprise when you got there.
ETA: Ooh, I love those casting suggestions.

BTW, one thing I forgot to mention. Last night was the first time I've ever talked to Anthony that he hasn't seemed at all tired. I'm very happy that for once he wasn't.
That's very good to hear. :)
Yes, I'm glad that he didn't look so exhausted as he has before.
I like the title because aside from its obvious connotations, it can mean almost *anything* that's addressed in the play, since "F*CKing" can be the adjective, the verb, etc. Clever, clever....
Well, he probably hasn't been molested by crazed fangirls holding copies of Without You in a while.
Haha Mandi, good point. That has probably helped.
Emcee, good point about the title. I like it as well.
I like that title, it is very clever.

Heh. I remember one of my creative writing teachers having a conversation with a student about how useful that word is, how it can be used for nearly any part of speech. Sometimes, you just have to love the English language.
You should all listen to Adam Sandler's 'Uses of the Word F*ck'. It's quite amusing, but also true.

Oh, this thread is going in a great direction. Analysis of curse words!
Actually, I read an article on a similar subject for an anthropology class. 'Twas very interesting.
I dunno. For all the hormones and whatever that the play probably did send flying (shut up, gulity as charged) it has also been really thought provoking, in terms of cultural ideals and whatnot. Obviously, it's certainly not something *I* am familiar with. heh.

What was the play about? Inform those who are less...erm, informed, I suppose?
Gay male sexual culture. It was a series of two-person sketches.
Actually...I understood a lot of the jokes and kind of like...knew what they were talking about and even thought to myself that it's sad that I got all these references/jokes and totally understand gay male culture *shrug*
This is why I'm never going to find a straight guy.
I loooved Barrett being the "bi" college student.
Funny...I saw the title and thought right away of the verb, and no other use. Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part.
I'm not sure I would call them "sketches" as far as I understand the term, but it could have more of a meaning. Each one flowed into the other, because one person would stay and do the next sketch as the same character, and then he would leave and another person would do one with the character he was just with, etc.
Well, some of it was universal, obviously.
I think I knew a lot from my friend who was trying to tell my why gay guys are bad and why I shouldn't love them, so he tells me about the whore culture and the whole they're-free-to-sleep-around ideal, so I got those references and stuff. Of course his goal did not work
I don't think it's at ALL an issue of good versus bad. For me, it was really interesting to see like, what's considered "okay" or "normal" in something I only know by hearsay. I hear about this in terms of like, personal life gossip, but I've never considered it as a cultural standard.
Oh no, of course it's not. I didn't mean that. He just used that word to help me get unobsessed, which like I said didn't work.
I thought it was interesting how there were different interpretations in the play as to what is acceptable and what isn't, and what some people expect as opposed to others. Like Em said, it's very thought provoking.
