Lucas is one of my favorites. I love how he carries around the couch cusion through half the movie. And yes, the actor was also in Dazed and Confused.
I actually ordered Anthony's CD through Borders so it could be delivered to my local store and placing the order was fine but a couple days later I got a message saying the item just went out of print and it couldn't be ordered. Which, from what i hear everywhere else, is not true. Anyway, I think I'm going to try to order it from Sh-K-Boom when I get my next paycheck.

Yea, you really do need to buy the CD. It's really good.
I really wish there was a way to play the video but I've tried everything that I could think of. Stupid automatic updating!!

What now?
I love the fact that he carried the couch cushion everywhere.
Debra: No visible tattoos.
Gina: No revealing clothing.
Debra: We're both screwed. At least you're used to it.

I had that thought (amazon and cdbaby) but that would require using my dad's credit card. Even though I'm 20, if I use his credit card for anything, he has to approve of it and he doesn't approve of Rent or anything Rent related. Since both page's descriptions say that Anthony Rapp was in Rent, he wouldn't let me do it. Which is why I was going to try Sh-K-Boom because you can order with them and pay with a money order.
Get a paypal account and use your Dad's credit card for that... I'm not saying you should defy your father, but that's just lame. He wouldn't need to know what you were buying if you used a paypal account, it could be anything.

My dad tries not to pay attention to the fact I like RENT... we saw the movie as a family, and that's about as much as I'd expect.
I got his CD from amazon.com about 2 weeks after I ordered it, which is a lot faster than it said it would come. I was a happy camper. :)

My family is a mix of "OMG homosexuals are going to hell", "Two boys kissing is gross, but girls make it hott", and my dad, who thinks that it is "sick, wrong, evil, terrible, deserves the death penalty, ect...".
Then there is my mom, who rocks. I must have come from her, because she's totally cool with it. Actually, I wasn't sure where she stood on the issue because she kept quiet around my family, but when I played Anthony's CD I used it as way to bring it up. I played "Just Some Guy" for her and told her how much I love it because it shows that gay guys aren't all about sex, and they are just humans with real love and affection for other people- then my mom told me that she has a cousin who has lived with his partner for 20 years and that she thinks that if more people wrote songs like this then losers like my dad would realise that these people are real, not sex-obsessed druggies or child molestors.

Tragic, my dad's the same way. He got me the RENT soundtrack for Christmas, but...well, it came with a fair bit of ridicule that almost made it not worth it. I've learned to stop off at places on my way to/from work/school, get friends to order stuff for me, and borrow what I can. I'm getting a Paypal account soon, I think, so that I can really get busy buying what I want, heh. Then I'll have the problem of finding a place to have it all delivered, but no point in worrying about that yet!
If I can find a way, *you* can find a way, trust me

My dad's side of the family is considered "old fashioned" about a lot of things. On my mom's side, the theory is: If you're happy (and you're not doing something harmful to yourself, like drugs), then I'm happy for you. I'm just glad I got my mom's point of view on life and people.
My mom is going to love Rent. We're going to have a Rent night on Wednesday since my dad's going out of town tomorrow. She already loves both of the albums. She'll come up to me and say things like: "play that song with the candle, I really like that song." It's kind of cute.

*sigh* My Dad liked Rent, but then threw a major hissy fit when he found out Anthony was queer. I don't get it. What is it, only okay if they're fictional or something?

My mom is, luckily, pretty good with everything. I have no idea how my dad stands on it but I don't really give him a choice. I've just kind of not given many of my family members the choice. If they don't like it, then they can look the other way but whatever. I still convince as many people as I can to see Rent and to listen to the music and everything, and a few have enjoyed it nonetheless. I hate that people are having such an issue with Rent because of the gay themes, considering none of it uses the gay couples as anything different. They are just shown as another couple and I love that. Unfortunately, most people don't see that. *shakes fist*
Ugh, and I definitely hate the whole 'lesbians are okay, but not gay men' thing. That just doesn't make any sense. I think that is almost worse than someone who hates gays altogether. At least they are consistant...

My dad is a bit of a homophobe so I don't like to play RENT around him. Part of it is actually because one of my uncles are gay. My mom is tolerant but it's weird, 'cause she thinks I'm a lesbian, and I'm not. And my brother...well he doesn't like to talk to me so I'll probably never know.
