Ok, so after walking up and saying hi and the street, I was really happy and immedialty called all my friends (or the ones that would care that I just met him). Then I went in the bookstore and sat on the ground, and tried to read. I was sitting about 2 feet from the counter, and all of a sudden Anthony comes up and stands at the counter. That was preety cool, I really liked his pants
So then there was a lot waiting around, untill 7 when he came out. He talked about his book for a little, and then was gonna read. He made sure everyone had their cellphones off, but right before he started someones phone made a really loud noise, followed by a "Uh huh" from Anthony( he then described yelling at people during Hedwig who had their cells on). Then he read Glory, which was amazing. Next was the Q&A's. Some of the highlights were someone asking him if he was going to play any gay roles. He replied saying that he had done some, including Hedwig. Everyone laughed at the mention of that, and he started laughing a little and then said "Yeah...Hedwigs preety gay" It was hilarious! Hmm im sure others remember the questions better than I do. Then his guitar guy came out, and he sang Loosing My Religion first. I love when he sings that, so I was happy. Then after request for Halloween and LVB, he said he would do Without You ("Im putting my foot down," he said) About a minute into the song, he forgot what part came next, but figured it out. That was preety funny. Then it was time to sign the books. The place where the signing was going to take place was on the opposite side of the room that he was talking on, so because I was in the front the the reading, I was just about last in line. Luckily, my dad had been saving me a spot way up front, so I went there. I waited for about 2 minutes, and then went up. It was really quick, but he said something to me like "Sorry I screwed up Without You", and I laughed and told him it was ok, and I was just glad he did it because I really like listening to him do that song. He was getting ready to sign someone else's stuff when the guy handed him David Searching and he said "Oh Cool" and sighned it. I walked away and said "I already read the book (I'd say a majority of the people there hadnt), and I thought it was great". He said thanks, and then that was it. I was suprised at how fast that part went (once I upload the picture I'll show ya'll, he has the 'WTF' look on his face and I look like im rolling my eyes at him). So after that, I was really happy I had met him prior to everyone getting there.
Pictures soon!
Edit: No, I didnt bring any Fingersandwhiches. I didnt want to get him sick ( I might have, concidering I shock his hand and had a fever)
That's really nice Opiv. I'm glad to hear that you had a good time.
Very awesome that he decided to switch up the song. Someone already put Losing My Religion up on youtube:

Yes - the Stephanie/Monica thing is just a tad creepy.
Thanks Fantab!

Wow. Anthony singing R.E.M. always makes my day. :)
Yay! I love that video. Thanks so much! hehehe
My co-worker has his music up pretty loud, so I'll have to wait to watch.

Man, now I really cannot wait until March so I get to meet him. I'm sure my story won't be anywhere as good as the ones that have been posted, but I'm excited anyway!
I am SO jealous of you gals (and guys) that get to see him...
*tries to send Anthony a telepathic message*
~~Anthony, come to Michigan~~
Okay, just caught up on 22 pages, sorry for referring to things said so far back but...
"I was on such an emotional rollercoaster that day. That in addition to meeting all these people I've only, like, worshipped (not the best term, but you know what I mean) from afar for years now was just...A LOT. I did improve over the course of the night though, I swear!"
Aww Skittles, you know I tease out of affection, just like you. And look, considering how nervous/amazed you were, you really weren't that bad. It's cool that you can ramble when you're nervous instead of saying nothing. Of course I'm much better now, but I was far from it my first ever...slightly famous encounter. I saw Tino Martinez in Starbucks. I went to a Yankee game earlier in the week, and happened to have my baseball and pen, so I went up to him and meant to say, can I have your autograph...it came out mayashtgrph? And barely audible at that. Fortunately, he understood what me holding out the baseball and pen meant. Oopsy. Very glad I've since improved
Oh, the Amanda! comment you meant Mandi? Okay, that actually makes sense...oops.
Em, I loved Don't Eat the Pictures! That was when no one could see Snuffy except Big Bird and they had to solve the riddle to help the boy go to heaven. And cookie monster tried to eat all the pictures. Hehe. But my favorite Sesame Street special is Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, 1981. I used to rent that video all the time. The characters are skating to the tune of "Feliz Navidad" and Oscar asks Big Bird how Santa can do what he does and still exists, and Big Bird sets out to prove he does exist, but then no one can find him. And Bert and Ernie do that gift swapping bit where they get something for the other to go with something they already have, but each has traded that something for the other's gift. Then Mr. Hooper gives those back as his Christmas present Ah, the good days of Sesame Street before Elmo's World took over...
You guys were momentarily talking about Once On This Island, that was the first show i ever played in the pit for in high School--I loove it!
And I'm going to DRS on the 21st, but I plan to go to at least one of the March signings, already know a cool thing to bring to get signed. But you all are silly, the best thing for any actor to "autograph" would be a check made out to you for a large sum of money
And thanks everyone for your accounts on the signings. I'm glad you all had such wonderful times, and it's great just hearing more and more how wonderful Anthony is.
"the best thing for any actor to "autograph" would be a check made out to you for a large sum of money"
Heh. Got me one of those. But I cashed it...
I love DON'T EAT THE PICTURES. And at the end, with the Egyptian (?) thing, and they weigh the feather.
BRILLIANT!
Nice book.
I love that movie SO SO SO MUCH.
Hee, and then he ascends the staircase! What was the answer to a riddle? Oh yeah, I think the riddle had something to do with the present meeting the past, and the answer was museum.
Does anyone know when/how everyone else saw Snuffy and realized he wasn't imaginary?
BSo, it doesn't count if you get the check for something you paid for and it's giving you back the money :-P No profit.

I remember in that movie there was a scale at the end and his heart was on one side and a feather was on the other? I could be wrong but I think that if his heart was lighter than he could be a star in the sky like his parents. I also LOVED that movie when I was younger...I still do
At first, I was confused about what the Stephanie/Monica thing that you were talking about was. I used to know the girl's real name and some other stuff, but it's been too long.
I don't remember how everyone else saw Snuffy for the first time in the show, but my mom tells me that I was practically bouncing off the walls, I was so excited. I used to get very upset that no one could see Snuffy, so this made it all better.
opiv and sascha, glad y'all had a great time last night! Yay for new songs! I hope Out Tonight is next on the list
I haven't seen that movie (DON'T EAT THE PICTURES), so I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I'll just smile and nod.

What!? You haven't seen it? It's just the greatest kid movie of all time, besides for the Wee Sing videos, which probably can't be classified as movies but they're right up there in the best kids videos ever made.

I'm smiling and nodding along with you because I haven't seen that movie either. Hehehe

I haven't see those either. I used to watch National Geographic videos...Now THOSE were entertaining. I mean, what can get better than a talking globe?
