Ok...I want to join in the Anthony fan fun. I've read a ton of everyone's posts and I've never met him or anything but I'd love to join in the conversation!
Welcome, Dawn! (If that's not your real name feel free to correct me. )
Hi!!! welcome to the madness that is this thread. hehehe. not really. it's a lot of fun in here
Wow! Just got back...Im just gonna post about what happened before the actual signing. (It includes Anthony :)
I apoligize in advance for a lengthy post.
So my dad and I got to SF at about 4:30. We went straight to the book store, and no one was really in there. So I walked around for a little, and then decided to go back to the car to get my book to read. As I was walking back into the book store, I noticed Anthony was standing, looking at books to my left. I almost squeeld, and walked the other way. I was sooo nervous, and then decided to talk to him. He was standing on the sidewalk at this point. SO I walked up to him(luckily he wasnt talking to anyone) and said "Can I say hi to you now." He was very nice and said sure. I was soo nervous, and told him something about him having to tell fans to breath, and how I vowed that wouldnt happen to me. Then I said something about BWW, and he asked me what my username was. I told him, and to my suprise he immediatly recognized me. I said "You really know who I am", and he said yeah. Then he asked me my real name, I told him, he shock my hand, and went inside.
More to come...
ah... cliffhanger! lol. post more post more!!! lol. <3 Anthony's awesomeness with his fans... we've got to get him back on the boards.
If nothing else, 1 question: did you bring fingersandwiches? lol.
what i really want is for him to answer my letter (which i would of course then share w/ you guys)... but in an act of trying not to be selfish... anthony come back to the boards! lol.
night guys... going to bed.

Yay, opiv! I want more details...
Ok, maybe it's the lack of sleep and the papers. But could you please use proper capitals. It's getting hard to read some posts.

Just got back from the SF reading. I went very early, at 4, and I was the first one there. I do not care if I looked geeky, I was just concerned about getting in front for the reading. I had been there years earlier, for Bruce Vilanch, and was stuck in back for that because the actual seating area is small. I didn't mind for Bruce, but wanted a good seat for Anthony.
Anyway, at about 5, Anthony came in to the store for a bit. By that time, there was a couple there, so I asked the woman id that man I had just seen was Anthony. (he had his head down). He was, and I had a fangirl moment. He left soon after. People started pouring in at 5:45. II, lucky me, got the first seat in the first row. For an hour, I just chilled.
At 7. Anthony came on. He read from Glory, which almost made me cry. I love to have authors read their work, because they put so much into it. q and A started then, and me, being me asked the first question. (I figure it loosens people up, if a girl with a severe speech impairment asks the first question. ) I asked about his literarily influences, and he mentioned the Corrections. I'm not good at remembering questions, but his answers were always well thought out.
Someone asked him to sing Losing my Religion, and he did and was amazing. Then he sang Without you. I still think of it as a duo, but it was quite pretty.
The line was long, and I'm bad at estimating the number of people, but I would say at least 100 showed up. So I get up there and he says "you're Sascha, right?" I guess not a difficult assumption. i said yes, we took a picture, and he made a joke about the both of us being in wheelchairs. (his chair has wheelchair. It wasn't his best joke:) I was using my dad's camera, and didn't know how too work it that well, and was apologizing, but he was very sweet, and said it wasn't a problem at all. He also said he would see me on the boards. I thanked him, and went around the bookstore a bit. I thanked the guitar player too, who I must say was cute.:)
Thhe owneer of the bookstore, not the friendliest guy, kicked us peons out at promptly 9:30, when my disabled paratransit ride. Was scheduled for. The service is always very late, and I thought I would be able to wait inside. This was even though, Anthony was still signing books. Anyway, at about 9:50, who should come out but Anthony and his entourage. I said "good to meet you." And he said something like he wwas glad to, but was I, OK. I told him about the just beautiful transit service. And he said that he understood, but he didn't want to go until he knew I was safe. I must admit I was tempted to lie, as time with Anthony and his friends would have been REALLY cool, but I told him my dad could pick me up if worse cane to worse, and I would be fine, thanks for his concern, and it was great meeting him. He said it was good meeting me too, touched my arm, shoulder, and went about saying good-bye to the people he actually knew.
Although I was mad, as usual, at the service, but what Anthony staid and did, shows he is very caring and considerate.
So in closing, it was a beautiful night in honor of a wonderful person, inside and out.
Take Care,
Sascha

I'm glad you had a great time even though the transit service sucks. It's the same thing for my cousin, they're always late.

opiv & sascha -- I'm glad you guys had such a great time! It sounds like it was a lot of fun.
Monika-- i ADORE your laugh. It reminds me so much of my own, not the actual laugh, but wherever I go I'm always the one that's laughing soo ridiculously hard, and not in a fake laugh kind of way, like...real close-to-tears laughing. It was very cute
It sounds like that everyone who went to a booksigning has had a blast.
My mom dropped a bomb on me last night and said I can't go to the NYC signing since we're going to my Grandma's on Cape Cod. Let's see Grandma....Anthony....Grandma....Anthony. I pick Anthony! I'm so mad I can't go. I hope who ever goes to the NYC signing will have a great time and come back with great stories!
