Opiv that picture is so cute Okay, after reading all of these accounts of meeting Anthony, you all are making me so excited! Less than two weeks, and you're gonna hate me because I don't have a digital camera so I can't share all the lovely pictures I'll be taking, lol. My friend might be bringing a video camera though *crosses fingers*.
Bring a disposable! That's what I did! I just got my pics developed one hour the next day... (and that was quite an adventure, believe you me). Then get a CD... and share away! Woot! Man I wish he was coming back to Chicago... my friend and I shall bribe him with awesome organic fingersandwiches!!! *serious tiredness*
Tragic Melodie...that's definitely all I was looking for! Sorry everyone if you thought I was looking for "bootleg" recordings or anything, but I definitely was NOT.
My mom just handed me the Arts & Travel section of my Sunday paper. The entire front page (Though it is largly taken up by a picture. Haha It certainly draws attention.) and half of another is about Anthony's book and the movie.
Good morning everyone!
Opiv, your picture is cute.
That's really cool, Rouge.
Ok, show details now:
Warning, this is long...
So were driving there, and the show starts at 7:30. Theres absolutly god awful traffic. I was about to burst. We got there at just about 7:30, but luckily it hadnt started yet,and I managed to get a good seat in the 2nd row(but my mom had to sit behind me, Oh well). I was sort of hypervenalating the whole time, I dont really know why.
So finaly, he came on. YAY!!! I saw him walking to the little stage, and admired his jeans.(Oh, he was wearing preety much the same thing as on Thursday, hehe) Then he started with the song I recognized as "The Breakup Song" from Dan's video. It was amazing. I really love that song. Then he played some song from the 80's, don't know what its called. Then he played the other song I knew from Dan's video-"The Stalker Song". What was next...?I think he did Look Around next. He also played a song he said his guitar player wrote with his ex-boyfriend, which was very good. He then said that his next song he didn't play much anymore, but since we were in the "queer capitol of the united states", he would. So he played "Just Some Guy". Then he did a Radiohead cover. Ummm...Oh yeah, He talked about how he got to write with lots of different people making Look Around, and how he didnt really know a lot of guitar, but he knew enough chords to write the next one all by him self (everybody awwwed, and then he awwwed, it was very cute) and so he played "Then Again". I think he played "Visits to You" next, or I dont remember when he played that. But it was good. And then, my personal favorite of the show, his cover of Miss World. Soooo awesome. He then said thank you and goodnight(and did this really cute skippy/hoppy thing to the stairs). Then they came back for one more. He sang La Vie Boheme (the first verse at least) which I had never heard of him doing before. It was so cool. Then Adam started playing. Seasons of Love. Then he said that he wouldn't mind meeting people and signing stuff, and that he would do it behind this counter. Somehow, I was the first one in line.
So, then he came behind the counter and saw me and said "Hi again". I said "You remember me" and he said yeah. That was suprising, but he probably just rembered me as the crazy girl that came up to him on the street. So then my mom said something about us comming from Sacramento, and he said "like an hour and a half away?" and she said there was bad traffic. Then, being the nice sister I am, told him about Kimmy who was sick and couldnt make it today or Thursday, and he signed something for her (and wrote "Hi Kimmy, Get well!") How cute. And then I got another picture with him. Two pictures actually. And we were both ready this time And I said bye and that was it!
Oh, and I got to meet Stage Whore and Defying_gravity2! That was fun.
He did a lot of really cute things on stage, but I cant really remember.
Thanks for the details, Opiv. It sounds like it was a lot fun. I can't wait until Tuesday!
Wow, you had an awesome time!
Yeah
wow. sounds like you had a great time!!
Oh yeah, he also sang Orgin of Love from Hedwig.
aw, yay, Opiv.
I feel like an idiot, but which Adam are you talking about?
Nice pics Opiv!
Adam's the guy who played the guitar in the Sundance videos and at the signing where Anthony sang Losing My Religion - although, I don't know who he really is.
I thought so.
Maybe he's a member of Albinokid, but because the full band wasn't there, Anthony just kept introducing him as Adam. I don't know...
Yeah, I don't know if he's from Albinokid. Probably not, because Anthony would have said so.
I am so glad you had fun! It sounds like an amazing event!
*jealous like a b****!* OMG it sounds like sooo much fun. I think more than anything else I want to hear him sing Origin of Love... man he needs to do a concert in Chicago... SOON. lol. /end rant.
That's so awesome opiv!
