Ew, Katt, did you know they have a girl Ninja Turtle now? Part of me wants to be like "Yay, girl power!" but you can't just screw with the Ninja Turtles like that!
Like a firework unexploded
Wanting life but never
knowing how
I miss the old EVERYTHING. Old Power Rangers, old Ninja Turtles... and I was one of those kids who obsessively watched Rainbow Brite as a kid and didn't just like it later because there was an 80s/90s cartoon revival. I LOVED Rainbow Brite and once tried to make her dress out of massive pieces of paper XD
I'm sure some parent called and complained and that's why they did that.
Sometimes I wish things would just stay the same forever. I miss old Nickelodeon shows. I miss old Disney Channel shows, and I even miss Vault Disney sometimes. I miss 90s music (No seriously, heh.) I wish that they hadn't changed Ninja Turtles, or Power Rangers. I wish that they hadn't made crappy Disney sequels seemingly intent on ruining the first ones. I miss being little sometimes.
Has anyone ever seen these quotes?
"Life was so much easier when your clothes didn’t match and boys still had cooties."
"Sometimes I wish I could go back to the days when I was six and my biggest problem was what kind of dress to put on my Barbie's or whether or not I had enough Lego's to build a fort."
Speaking of myspace, this is on it, but I didn't make it:
Close your eyes...and go back... Before the Internet or the AIM Before semi automatics and weed Before playstation2 or X-box Before the 5 hours of homework you put off every night...way back I'm talkin' bout hide and go seek at dusk. Red light, Green light. Playing kickball & dodge ball until your porch light came on. Mother May I? Red Rover Four square Hula Hoops Running through the sprinkler Happy Meals Getting the privilege to sit in the front seat of the car Watchin' Saturday Morning cartoons like: Hey Arnold and Doug Or what about legends of the hidden temple, global guts, double dare, and ARE YOU AFFRAID OF THE DARK! Who could forget Snick? Or the teenage mutant ninja turtles, Scooby Doo, and Power Rangers, Christmas morning... Your first day of school Bedtime Prayers and Goodnight Kisses Climbing trees Getting an ice cream off the ice cream truck A million mosquito bites and sticky fingers Jumpin' down the steps Jumpin' on the bed Pillow fights Runnin' till you were out of breath Laughing so hard that your stomach hurt and you almost peed your pants Laughing so hard that you did pee your pants Being tired from playin' all day Your first crush Rainy days at school meant playing "Heads up 7-Up" in the classroom. Remember that? I'm not finished yet... Kool-Aid was the drink of the summer Giving your friends a ride on your handlebars or on the back of your bike Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school Class Field Trips When nearly everyone's mom was at home when the kids got there. When getting high was swinging on the swing-set When $5 seemed like a million, and another dollar a Miracle. When your parents took you to McDonalds and you were so cool. When Toys r Us overruled the "mall" When Chucky Cheese's seemed like a fun place to go I want to go back to the time when... Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-moe" Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!" "Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest. Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "monopoly" Catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends. Saying cuss words were referred to the "F, B or S - word" or h-e double hockey sticks. Being old, referred to anyone over 20. The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties. T The only real heart break you had was when your mom wouldn’t buy you that new toy Nobody was prettier than Mom Nobody was cooler than Dad Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park. Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare" Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles. If you can remember most or all of these, then you have LIVED!!! Pass this on to anyone who may need a break from their "grown up" life... I double dog dare you
Sometimes I really do wish I was a kid again. And it's not like I'm old...I'm not even sixteen yet. But life was so much easier before the drama that comes with high school.
Man, I miss all of the old Nickelodeon shows. I don't bother with them anymore because they severely disappoint me. And I'm getting older, thats a part of it.
I used to love Heads Up, 7 Up XD
I still get Happy Meals on occasion so I can't really say I miss those :)
You must think I'm still sixteen.
I dropped out of high school for a reason.
And I don't care if you're pretty. I'm not admitting you are right.
My soul is not a stage.
I won't pretend I'm anything I'm not
I don't watch Nick anymore, it dissapoints me. I tuned in for the All That 10th Aniversary, but they managed to ruin that for me too. Even Nick at Nite isn't very good anymore.
Some of those are so true though. I remember how I used to be so impatient for our Christmas tree to be ordered, so that we could decorate it, and set up our toy train around it. This year, I didn't care. We used to get up early Christmas morning, but not anymore.
Sitting in the front seat of the car used to be SUCH a privledge, and now I'm DRIVING the car.
Chucky Cheese's used to be amazing, and now I'm disgusted by it.
Sometimes the realizations you come to as you get older are just no fun.
MTV and VH1 don't even play music anymore. And we no longer have the Box, which used to play music videos twenty four hours a day. We used to beg our parents to let us call in and order a video. They usually said no, but they did let us do it one time. But that channel is long gone now.
And see, even thinking about Red Rover is kind of sad, because now it's banned in a lot of places because parents freak out if the kids get their feelings hurt, or physically hurt from it.
Though it is a little late, 'IT'S MORPHING TIME' almost made me pee myself. I don't think I'll ever be able to see that picture or that part of the movie again without thinking of him as a power ranger.
Topdoggeh, if you find any info about the Hollins University signing, tell me because I cannot find anything on it!
