If Anthony doesn't respond to your message, it doesn't mean that he favors any fans over you. You have to remember that he does have a life too. He has no obligation to respond to anyone's PMs at all. I'm sure he gets hundreds of them, and only has time to respond to PMs with specific questions, otherwise he would probably be spending hours replying back to each and every one.

well yeah he probably doesn't favor anyone because he doesn't know any of us, and i would hate to have like hundred of PM's (kind of) it would take so long to respond and then you would probably feel bad if you didn't respond...

it's super true. i would hate being bombarded when i just wanted to go on for a sec and look at what i was interested in.
First of all, Anthony is not favoring ANYONE by only responding to some PMs. If there is nothing for him to respond to in a PM, what would you expect him to say exactly?
Secondly, he has a life, and as all of you know, Anthony also has a book coming out fairly soon that he is promoting. The movie came out, then the holidays, then the book, and somewhere mixed in, he has also been doing readings for shows. He was never bound to come back to posting and/or answering PMs here and with what happened the last time he posted, it makes perfect sense for him to take a break.
Thirdly, I would assume that the ideal situation for Anthony to return and post in most people's minds is the way the old welcome thread started out - with Anthony participating in open discussion with his fans. Maybe a step in the right direction would be for people to proofread posts, check spelling, and capitalize. That would probably help to create a more conversation-friendly thread.
I agree. I enjoy getting PMs, but tons of them would be downright scary. I sent him a PM back in December, with nothing specific (just thanked him for coming up to Massachusetts). Just knowing that he read it is good enough for me.
I think I love you Fantabulous.
Words of advice to everyone:
Spell check is your friend. Use it.
And so are capital letters, grammar, and coherent sentences. They do teach us that stuff in school for a reason ;D

Ah, yes, spell check. I always feel the need to be careful of what I write, because on a board like this, you never know who could be reading it. Also, it hurts anyone's eyes, and I know I don't appretiate atrocious spelling/grammar, so why should anyone else have to go through it?
Of course, I don't always follow my own advice (here's to hoping no one decides to just read through some of the original Welcome Anthony Rapp thread, just for kicks).
I've never PM'd Anthony, but I've never had any specific questions for him, and I'm sure he gets enough compliments. Once I read the book I'll probably PM him, but I'll wait. Because he'll probably be getting a s**tload of them after his book comes out.

You mean I have to speak right now...not fair, but I'll try, thanks for the advice!
Fantab, I completely agree. I just lurked at BWW until the tailend of his original posting stint, but I sometimes wish we could just go back to the way it was before the whole Sony-silence drove him away and the Rent-hate brought him back. Back when he didn't mind coming on the boards and posting, because there was friendly (and legible) interaction.
Not only can anyone read the threads, and I'm sure many people, both members and non-members lurk, but, posts are permanent. They will be here for a LONG while. Post only what you want to be associated with.
In Anthony's words:
And also please know: I am a human being, and there is *no* reason to just fawn or whatever. I enjoy getting to talk to you guys, who have supported me and the work I've done for all of these years. But I didn't enter into the Broadway World world looking to get my ass kissed the whole time, believe me. I enjoy a good discussion, debate, as much as anything else. So no fear, please.
all i have to add what the intelligent people have been adding is BRAVO!
And also, with as much as Anthony lurks, he probably reads this thread. I'm sure you wouldn't want him to read a completely incoherent post that you wrote without checking it over to see if it even made sense.
I'm sure there is a *much* greater chance that Anthony would be reading this thread than the old thread. So please, pretend Anthony is reading, and write legibly.

God, yes. I hope this new thread is like a new start. We can hold intelligent conversations, and, even if Anthony never posts here (I actually doubt he will, but no one likes a cynic), we don't have anything to be embaressed about. I lurked for a while, too- I actually came right after he left, but before people started to get nasty at the Rent thread and horribly fangirlish at the Anthony one, it looked like an amazing experience. For him to share his experiences- I really wish I could have been there.
Off topic: zzprincesskatt, I love your sig.
Thank you =]
It's currently my favorite quote, although I can't ever hold a favorite of anything for more than a few weeks, lol.
I strongly dislike when people do not type normally. I mean, it easily can lead to a mistake when you are writing a paper or a small essay. Teachers, professors...whoever, will not care to read something like: "in the crucivle, john proctir and his wifffe r relly havin problems."
Okay, so that was an exaggeration...a really big one, but it got my point across. One, never write a sentence as vague as that. If you read/saw the play, we know they had problems. Elaberate. Um, okay next point. Two, spell check. Three, type words correctly; do not use shortcuts. And when writing a paper, do not use conjunctions.

I'm sorry if I started all of that. I most definitely did not mean that Anthony favors his fans. I understand he has tons going (and if he's looking at this bravo!) on in his life and he's sometimes too busy to reply. I was just suggesting that it would awesome to get a reply back. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I don't want to sound stupid or something but whats a conjunction, I don't think I ever learned those in school.
"Conjuction junction, what's your function?"
I think it would do a lot of people well to go watch Schoolhouse Rock again. =D
Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
Hooking up cars and making 'em function.
Conjunction Junction, how's that function?
I like tying up words and phrases and clauses.
Conjunction Junction, watch that function.
I'm going to get you there if you're very careful
Sorry about the Ode to Schoolhouse Rock. I feel like a dork now =D

RENTLuvr...out of curiosity, what grade are you in?
You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but I'm just wondering.

Ahhh, Schoolhouse Rock! All I remember is the passing of a bill to make a law...good times.
Our English teacher won't let us do semicolins in out essays or works because so many people don't use them correctly. And I'm in the *10th* grade. <---- I find myself using that smiley with increasing frequency.

I've got a question. Am I wrong in making the assumption that most people posting on this board are highschool students? That's the impression I was getting and wanted to make sure.
I'm in the 10th grade.
And Dramatic Irony...last year our English teacher tried to make us use no helping verbs at all. It was tons of fun trying to write papers like that. Except not.
Broadway Legend Joined: 12/26/05
Ah, yes. We had to do that, too. And also not use fragmented sentances, at all. I mean, I realize that they're not proper grammar, and wouldn't use them for essays, but they're good for effect in the creative writing pieces. This post is littered with them.
court_zwick, I'm assuming from the way you phrased your question that you're not in high school. College or onwards?
Annnnyway, we really should start talking about Anthony if we don't want to risk this thread being moved to the Off-topic board.
