Posted: 12/24/06 at 2:34pmDoes anyone still use CDs? (No, I'm not being rhetorical.) The only time I use them is when I'm driving. I can't walk into a CD store without thinking that it's a waste to purchase any of them. It's true that digital music will never give that same feeling of opening a new CD, though.

Company (1995 Revival)
History Boys Movie Soundtrack (does that count?)
Those two and I just asked for a $100 iTunes gift card so that when something comes out I can get if off there.

That is an interesting, yet inaccurate, guess, stage. Have we slept together, giving you first-hand information to make that assessment?
Actually, the system accidentally purged my name. When Rob fixed the problem, I was reset to "swing." Fortunately for me, I have never put much stock in those designations. I will take an intelligent answer from a swing over the verbal diarrhea of a "legend" any day.

I always say Cast Recrding only because it is tradition; show records have always been cast recordings. I mean, you wouldn't call the great musical theatre abums from the 50's and 60's soundtracks, would you? :)
oOh ... and I want Dreamgirls as well.

I recieved 4 cast recordings, and I'm so excited about them (they are all shows I've been in love with but never got a chance to get a *proper* recording of). They are: "Merrily We Roll Along", "The Threepenny Opera", "A Chorus Line", and "Sunday in the Park with George". I also got a gift certificate to Boarders which I plan on buying "Spring Awakening" with
. My family is amazing.

Well, I sort of went out and bought myself some cast recordings... as a present to myself, because I did a lot of shopping for everyone else.
I got Company [original Broadway cast] and The Apple Tree [also original Broadway cast]. I introduced my parents to The Apple Tree by playing them "Eve" and they seemed to like it. My mom thought Alan Alda's voice was very pretty on that track.
I already know I'm getting the 1999 Studio recording of Cabaret... but I'm still going to act surprised when I open it.
So, that's it... no more cast recordings other than those...

I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky
