What kind of a PC are YOU looking at RIGHT NOW?
Desktop? Laptop? Hand-held? Compaq? Dell? HP?
I have an Acer Laptop TraveMate 4000L with 512 Mg RAM and a 60 gig hard drive.
What PC Do YOU SEE?
I don't see a PC.
I see a Mac.
Apple is awesome.
Please DON'T get me started on a "PC versus MAC" argument, Priest.
IMO, one is not better than the other. Each have their good points--and their not-so-good.
I tink a lot depends upon what you use your PC (or MAC!) primarily for.
I've got an IBM Thinkpad laptop. His name is Roger, and I love him... most of the time.
Emcee, how do you know 'Roger' isn't female?
I made an executive decision.
Shhh, no raining on Emcee's proverbial parade.
Dell, Desktop
even schools are shying away from MACS......
It's cool, Emcee. I'll "vault" it.
my daddys IBM laptop
Note of Trivia: Back in the 1980s and 1990s when IBMs went through one re-organization after another, the inside joke at the Company was that IBM REALLY stood for "I've Been Moved."

An HP laptop that's unofficially mine. It's dark blue and slightly sparkly. Purdy.
"unofficially" yours, Nia?
"Fess Up, I smell a good story somewhere there...
I'm on the family computer, a Dell Dimension 4600.
My own personal computer is an Apple PowerBook G4 that houses my fiction and mp3s. Sadly, it hasn't been internet-accessible since 2003 when it was hooked up to a dorm DSL line. If I could fix that, I'd never need to use this computer anymore.
Not that there's anything *wrong* with this one...nice Dell...
May I ask why haven't you tried to get the Apple fixed, Rose?

Dell Desktop with my green Beanie Baby dog on top of the monitor, and my personal Anthony Rapp as Mark background.
Oh, I've tried, I'm just so computer-illiterate that I can't do it myself. We bought an Airport dealie that we were going to hook up to the Dell and allow the Mac to access the Internet wirelessly. But see, we've been trying since August to get my computer to do its side of the bargain. So, I guess it just boils down to the fact that I'm lazy. :)
Funny you should ask. Just installed a new Dell Dimension 8400 Desktop/180GB Hard-drive/1GB Ram with 17" LCD Digital Flat Screen monitor. I named her Delores. She's sweet!
a computer i built that has TWO GIGS of ram. it has a shiny black case so i call it darth vader... and it growls/sounds like an engine when i start a game. flippin sweet.
i also have a 17" samsung flatscreen

Guess you win in the Ram department, feinstein. May I be so bold as to ask, how big's your Hard-Drive?

...I have a "Balance" laptop from WALMART. Yeah-WHAT? I wanted a laptop quite badly, so I got this one. It was quite a bargain. 700 dollars for a laptop with:
40 GB (I'll never use it all up)
256 MB of RAM
...that's all I know...heh.
Hey Parks, I almost got a "Balance" PC from Wal-Mart Mail Order as well.
Seriously!
You'll have to let me know if the "Balance" was a "Bargain"...
I'm in front of the PC my mother bought for work, which I have taken over, completely, being as she has no idea how to work the PC at all...
At other times though, I'm on my Mac iBook...
shira, maybe you should give your Mother a few lessons?
Just a thought...
I actually teach computer lessons to my mother's friends...but to teach your OWN parents. It's too stressful. Believe me, I've tried to. But you get more pissy when you teach your family.
