As for the mirror theory, go to the link above for the sound clip and read ...
Ok, so I listened to the clip of Walt talking. I hear no "don't" at the start of his sentence, but he could be saying "don't, button is bad" instead of "no button is bad".
so he could be saying:
"push the button. don't, button is bad"
??
Possibly. It's tough to hear it properly, he is whispering after all.
ugh. i really think it is "push the button. no button is bad" as a reference to the execute (and maybe others) button that jack was going to press down in the hatch.
oh, and i love desmond if only for his choice of music - the mamas and the papas!! i was having beautiful thing flashbacks watching lost the other nite.
RobbO, ME TOO! I love that song so much, it made me happy to hear it.
And I think the execute button is probably bad. But we'll see. I'm also somewhat concerned about the rest of the raft people.
i think the button is good. i think locke is evil (possessed by the island, perhaps?) thus, locke doesn't want jack to press the button. locke killed boone, got kate captured and his response to hurley's asking him if he heard him yelling not to blow the hatch was smug.
Good point. I did note that Locke's leg complaint cleared right up the second the plane with Boone in hit the ground. But it could be that Terry O'Quinn's most remembered role for me is as the evil killer in The Stepfather, so maybe that's why I think he's evil.
Locke is doing what he thinks the island (God, Devil, Desmond, Wisp of Smoke, etc...) wants him to. If the island (or whatever) is evil, then Locke is evil, if not...
I don't think Locke is evil, he is acting in what he thinks is the best interest of everyone. He could be deluded, but he thinks it is the "right" action.
His leg problem cleared up because he was losing the use of them because he was losing faith in "the Island" once he was forced to face Boone's demise (and realized that was his vision in the first place) his faith returned and he was able to use the legs again. If he doesn't think the island has fixed his legs, then it hasn't.
Of course if Locke grabs the gun and shoots Jack next week then I'll agree he is probably evil. The great thing about the show is That Could Happen
