re: What Was the Precise Moment...

I remember discussing september 11th on the 12th in Media Studies. We were reading the papers and discussing the pictures and the new reports etc. We got round to discussing what action America would take and someone just said "oh my god! A George Bush has the power to set the nuclear bomb off!" That's when i realised what he could do... and with his intellect it's never made me feel good!

re: What Was the Precise Moment...

as a canadian, i fail to see HOW this guy got elected, despite the fact that there are so many bush-haters out there. How does this work?? Is it the way the voting works down there?

nah, it's called winning a presidential election. something the democrats have managed only 3 of the past 10 chances they've had. it's understandable why it's alien to a lot of folks around here.

Focus, people, focus. The topic at hand is the precise moment you realized that George Bush is a failure as a president.

We'd especially like to hear from those of you who did NOT include Dubya in your responses to Cruel_Sandwich's Have You Ever Liked a President thread. So if you DON'T like Shrub, when did you first decide you didn't?

I know there are many disappointing moments to choose from.

What's YOURS?

When the bombs began falling on Baghdad and also when the 1000th soldier lost his life!

My precise moment was when I heard this Bushism:
"We support NATO, we are a part of NATO. We support Europe, we are a part of Europe."

So I don't know where [Osama bin Laden] is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you. ...And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.

re: what was the precise moment...

My dad just said what will, no doubt, rank as the 2nd most beautiful thing he has ever said to me (I say this in anticipation of the day he can say, "I love you and don't care if you're gay").

He said, "I will never vote for a Republican again."
This from a Fundamental Christian who, when the Republicans co-opted Christianity and became the "Official Party of Jesus", switched from being a Democrat so he could vote for crazed psychos like Pat Robertson and, well, Dubya.
He told me how upset he is over voting for the idiot and even expressed some faith in...wait for it...Hilary Clinton.

yes, my FATHER is going to vote for Hilary Clinton.

Am I perhaps dreaming?

re: what was the precise moment...

I can't pinpoint the exact moment, but one that just smacked me upside the head was when several of the London bombers were caught about a week after the attacks. They found them in a week, and we still can't find bin Laden after nearly four years. What that says to me is we *can* find him, we just don't want to.

re: what was the precise moment...

there was never a moment i didn't know. (i guess i was born with that knowledge -- the way salmon know how to return to the spawning beds or something) but i think my loathing reached critical mass when i realized he had made me nostalgic for HIS FATHER!
