I couldn't decide if this should be on the ot board or the regular board, but whatever. But anyway, since I have alot of auditions coming up, I was shopping for something to wear for them yesterday. I was about to buy a brown and pink skirt with a silk skarf thing for a belt, and a creamish v-neck sweater that matched, but then I thought the skirt was too short, and I heard you shouldn't wear anything shiny or any distracting patterns, or anything white or really light colored. So what do you guys wear for auditions?
my teacher from cap who worked for tara rubin casting told us to wear stuff that best suites us as people. Don't wear slutty stuff obviously but, a nice sweater or long sleeve black shirt is great. Nice black pants or a skirt without pattern. I think a flower dress is a bit extreme and phony.. I see a lot of girls always wearing their frilly dresses at auditions and it bothers me so much because no one would really dress like that on an everyday basis.

This all depends on what you are auditioning for. If the show is Hair.......................you get the picture. I, on the otrher hand would not wear my birthday suit because it is too wrinkled.

I tend to wear clothes.
Kidding. It depends on what you're auditioning for - if it's singing and dancing, or even just dancing, wear comfortable clothes and don't worry about trying to impress the casting...people. If it's just singing/acting, still dress comfortably. Clothes that you would wear on any old day - but, you know, not pajamas or anything ratty. I've never been to a big-scale audition, so my advice is a mix of common-sense and things I've heard from others. I know some actors like to dress accordingly for the audition - for his audition as Leo understudy, Jeffry Denman wore a suit and parted his hair in an accountant-esque manner (and ended up getting it). If that's what you like to do, then by all means, go ahead.

My last audition was for a replacement track in NAKED BOYS SINGING! so I didn't wear much at all. I think if I was fully clothed I would have been cast.

Oh Liam! You're a kid- you'll like naked women when you're older; especially if they're stark naked broadway chorus girls.
Jockstrap and work boots.
I usually wear a solid colored skirt and a nice shirt if it's just a singing/acting audition and comfortable pants and a nice shirt if there is any dance involved... or it is cold outside
I wear a big orange dress just like Carol Burnett did...
Just a little extention on nobizlikeshobiz's post...
Should one avoid wearing jeans? I've avoided wearing them so far, but i'd like to hear what you guys think.
it's all about sex. if you have something to show off, I don't see a problem with tight jeans...
What about this skirt? (Keep in mind I'm not old)ok, I'm trying to post it I hope it works...
