The true Jews are Orthodox and maybe Conservative, because they say that they're committed to halakha.
We don't recognize anyone who is not committed to keeping halakha.

Certainly, anyone born Jewish (however YOU define Jewishness at birth), is a true Jew, and remains a true Jew even if not committed to halakha (again, however YOU define it).

As MTF3 has demonstrated, intolerance and hate exists in all religions.
Remind me to tell the person who spat in my face for being Jewish when I was a child that I really wasn't after Jewish after all.
May you someday be judged by someone as tolerant as you.
