Oh no, here we go again. Yes, there are many annoying people EVERYWHERE! I hope that this wasn't meant as an "attack" on Sally, but it ended up that way. Let's not fight kids, use the PM route instead(that way someone can BLOCK you!)

I'm 14. >_>

And I hate coffee. Actually, I LOVE the smell of it. But absolutely hate the taste of it. Espresso...on the other hand...

re: What is Sally Brown?

Aigoo, I didn't know you were that young.......you act older, which could be bad or good I guess.

What I like about this board is it's many diverse people and ages, all bound by am love of Broadway, who basically get along.......I know of no other online board anywhere that can claim that.

re: What is Sally Brown?

Yeah...No one thinks I'm 14. re: What is Sally Brown?

I don't think it's a bad thing, necessarily, but I'm surprised at how many people can't guess my age.

re: What is Sally Brown?

Here goes: Thank you for those who stand up for me, I really appreciate it.

Yes, I love coffee. No, thanks for the concern, my parents are not irresponsible in the least. They are good, loving parents and it seems rather ridiculous to me that you should make judgments like that because I like coffee. Not that it's any of your business or anything, but my parents often hide coffee from me. Does that make you any happier?

I'm sorry about the Cruising thread.

re: What is Sally Brown?

Iflitifloat, I agree with your logic completely. But honestly, it is incredibly hard to keep younger posters off more "adult" threads when there is nothing to block them. We aren't the most particularily dirty board on the web but we have our moments. For the most part, people here are pretty careful about what they post and their proper wording. I'm not condoning letting younger posters run rampant on threads that they shouldn't, I'm just saying that in an open forum anyone can go anywhere so there is nothing one can do to really stop it. If someone is truly worried about a younger poster on a thread, then they should let that poster know their concerns.

I never meant to start a fight really, I just felt there could have been something different done to acess the problem.

Elphaba is right. We are a board of many ages, genders, races, etc. and we should all remember our common ground that brought us together. Thanks Elphaba. re: What is Sally Brown?

re: What is Sally Brown?

orion59 i really can say nothing but WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??? do you have nothing more constructive in your life that you find satisfaction in bashing a 14 yr old, coffee drinking is far from a sign of bad parenting i am originally am from seattle the coffee drinking capitol of the US!!! Im not seeing the link you are making to irresponsable parenting, if we were talking about a pregnant 14 year old maybe you could have a case but coffee???

As an adult maybe people here should take the responsability to watch what you post?? This is open to all and if you are not comfortable with your child reading it than maybe its not the best idea to post it here. Use common sense people!! every topic should be safe for all ages and if you dont like that make your own board and post whatever you want!!

Now that i am off of my soap box i hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Aigoo...I owuld have guessed you were in college. I guess because you aren't all "I LOVE WICKED AND IDINA MENZEL AND EVERY THING THAT HAS DO WITH THEM!"

thats a compliment.

re: What is Sally Brown?

I've been reading this thread but hasn't said anything on the matter. But shlamdiddly-- I don't think it's fair to say the 14 year olds on this board are all like that. Yeah, sure, some people are. *shrug* That's just me getting defensive because I myself am 14.
A most ingenious paradox.

re: What is Sally Brown?

I'm NOT saying they all are, but it seems like a lot of the 13/14 crowd does. I'm nt old or anything. I'm 16(my bday is two months from today though! WOO!). Sorry to offend

Eh-- don't think much of it. I've had a rotten day, so I'm a bit touchy, lol. Happy early b-day though!

re: What is Sally Brown?

Wait, one more thing. Since when am I a "what?" I'm still a human being..that would be "who" right? I'm sure all you fine adults can tell me the correct way.

re: What is Sally Brown?

"What" would be the most correct term...They're wondering your gender and your age.

They already know "who" you are, as they refer to you by your username.

It's a little complicated, but "what" seems like the most proper definition.

re: What is Sally Brown?

Ah I see. Thank you for clearing that up. The awful parents that I have taught me to always refer to people as "who", even if you do have some knowledge of them.

Then again, these are coming from the really bad parents.

re: What is Sally Brown?

Lea...
I agree that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to keep "kids" off of an adult board. I just think that if Off-Topic traffic was wicked in such a way that the "adults" gravitated toward a designated thread, that younger posters would be less likely to venture into inappropriate threads. Sure...they can still read 'em, but they won't end up posting in threads about things they know nothing about like Sally and Aigoo did tonight. There's nothing at all wrong with 14 year olds not being familiar with cruising and rimming...in fact, I'm glad that they're not. But the OT board, the way it is now, is just too wide open.

re: What is Sally Brown?

I would like to make a point:

I think some of you underestimate 14 year olds. With good reason, I'm sure but you should know that we know more than you think we know. Whether or not that's good or bad is really not up to you, who are not our parents, to decide. Besides, the way I learn about this stuff is through school mates..so there's not much one can do to make it stop.

I'm sorry, iflit, but that was my best laugh for the night.

And I really am sorry - I know you were being serious.

And by the way, I agree with you.

re: What is Sally Brown?

Thank you, iflitifloat. I do agree with you. I know there are things younger members shouldn't delve into and with the lovely (and pretty hysterical) traps Namo set up it is rather hard to avoid the age gap between us all. I just didn't really agree with some of the negative attitudes towards our younger members.

re: What is Sally Brown?

You know, I have been a VERY staunch defender of many of our younger friends. But why is it so unusual that people in their 40's and 50's might want to chat together? There is such a thing as different perspectives here.
