Yeah, but as a person who has raised a couple of kids, I am well within my territory as a responsible adult to not feel comfortable having 14 year olds participating in certain adult threads. Also, don't for a second presume that I underestimate 14 year olds...I know exactly how mature and advanced and wonderful a 14 year old can be.
Here is the thing: for the most part, adults do not want underage children participating in certain discussions. And the adults who DO want it, are an entirely different, and frightening, problem. It's not really my concern what you do and don't know....with the internet, you can find out pretty much anything you want. My concern is the interaction of minors and adults in inappropriate threads. You may be the most mature and articulate 14 year old around....but you are still 14.
And I'm guessing that your parents, as wonderful and open minded as they may be, would not be happy if they found you posting in a thread like you posted in today...even if it was done innocently. Hell, I'm guessing that they just might have a problem with you posting on the OT board at all if they saw some of the content.
Which goes back to my original point. If there is at least an attempt made to channel (a better work than "wick", DG?...lol) adult posting (of off topic threads) away from the regular OT board, a healthier situation would exist.
