The tests they put those things through are pretty rigorous. I don't think there's such a thing as a "bad" condom. Just check the expiration date and you're fine.

Just hand out pamphlets on abstinence.

If you hand out condoms, they may use them, and they may use them wrong. I wouldn’t want THAT responsibility.

I think my kids are use to me embarrassing them (just kidding). But let's think about it, how many kids are too embarrassed to go into a store to buy a condom, yet somehow they find themselves in a position where they need one and take foolish risks by not using one.

My sister-in-law, who is a dean of a nursing university had suggested that when my kids went off to college to give them a ton of condoms to put out in a candy dish in their apartments - she has seen the effects of kids too shy, too embarrassed, too timid, (in some cases) too poor to learn how to protect themselves.

I have a strong suspicion that once it gets around that we are passing them out........they'll be lined up for them.

So what is your son going to be for Halloween Stockard?

OK....adding to the costumes. We're going to get some old books (not actually bibles) and hollow them out to put the condoms inside them. I didn't think it would be cool to walk around with a plastic pumpkin.......what do you think?
