What's your voice part?

Posted: 7/23/05 at 11:22pmI sing second soprano in choir. For solo stuff I'm a high mezzo, low soprano. Top note is around a high C. How about you?

Posted: 7/24/05 at 12:28amBusty alto, baby! When I sing opera, I generally select my music from mezzo material.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 12:38amNot much of a range - more of a talk-singer. Low mezzo stuff - contralto. Im actually comfortable with tenor stuff :-/.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 12:55amHmm...around a Low D to a High F? I can pull off a G on good days.
#4re: What's your voice part?
Posted: 7/24/05 at 1:16amI sing Tenor in Choir. My range goes from a low E flat two octaves below middle C to a high D one octaves above middle C, but I can also sing a high C two octaves above middle C in my falsetto.

I usually consider myself a mezzo even though I used to be considered a lyric soprano -things change.
The real reason I replied to this thread, however, is to say that I love your username lea! I hope you mean salonga...I love her.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 12:06pmI am a Lyric Coloratura Soprano. I lost a lot of my bottom range, and I don't even know what my lowest note is. But my highest note is a weak F above High C. But my High C totally kicks ass.

Thanks Pinguin! It is for Lea Salonga. I love her too.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 2:56pmSoprano 2ish. Not really sure. My range is from the E below middle C to the C two octaves above it.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 2:59pmI'm an Alto II, but my range is pretty decent. I can hit a High C, but I actually prefer to sing probably low A to C ranges... it's my stronger belting area.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 4:20pmI can sing baritone, some tenor, and countertenor. But I am at my most comfortable at countertenor. Weird, I know.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 5:01pmI consider myself more a soprano II, but my voice teacher likes to call me a soprano I. I've sang both in choir, but usually sop I.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 12:59pmTenor. I can sing a G two octaves below middle C, and i can sing a B above middle C. But in my falsetto i can go to a High C. C sharp if im really warmed up.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 5:39pmI'm not sure of note range, but the highest note I've hit comfortably is a b-flat above high C. I'm sure I could hit Higher though. I really consider my self a Mezzo, but I just did a show where I had to sing some stuff that was really low for me although it was only a G below middle C. I'm sure with more work on my voice I could hit lower and higher.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 7:16pmI'm a mezzo or an alto, not quite sure which. My range is from F# below middle C up to a G about two octaves higher. I usually sing alto parts since I don't really like my break (which can be anywhere from a G to a C on any given day), but I've done mezzo before, but it usually means I have to work a bit harder.

Posted: 7/25/05 at 9:26pmPJ, I totally understand what you mean about feeling more comfortable in your countertenor range. I can sing up to around a high A or Bb in countertenor. This is why I need to play Mary Sunshine in Chicago. Updated On: 7/25/05 at 09:26 PM

Posted: 7/27/05 at 1:23ammy range usually tend to span between suck and 2nd tenor parts.
#21re: What's your voice part?
Posted: 7/27/05 at 8:44amI have finally accepted my switch from mezzo to a full out soprano. I have about 3 octaves. Ranging from about the E below middle C to an E above high C. I have a decent belt in the middle there, and as much as I love to sing high stuff i love the low stuff too.

Wow. O_O
It's AMAZING what voice teachers can do. Abso-frikking-amazing. I just went 3 notes higher than I would on a GOOD day yesterday. Freaking AMAZING. I didn't even know that the top top C was like..POSSIBLE for me! I'm still in shock right now. Jeebus.

high soprano. i can hit that high C pretty well! :)
but my low notes stink... I can only go to about an A below middle C.
#24re: What's your voice part?
Posted: 7/27/05 at 10:03pmI can sing from the G below middle C up to the C above middle C. Tenor with countertenor qualities. I have difficulty singing anything below middle C. An E is my lowest comfortable note.
