Drew wasn't wearing a bra, Latifah needs to not wear satin (or find a better gurdle), and Geena Davis needs to find a dress that doesn't make her look chunky (cause she isn't).

On the other hand, oddly enough, Pam Anderson looked very un-porn -- the black and white dress was great -- black up top made her boobs look smaller and not so porny.

I have to say, that while I found Drew's dress matronly and unattractive (and yes, she should have worn a bra, but she never does, so keep dreaming), I thought Mariah Carey's dress was just APPALLING. Just ugly, tacky, nasty. Just my opinion.

I can't seem to figure out why Mariah just isn't pretty anymore. Maybe it was just last night, I don't know, but she used to be gorgeous.

Yes, but we expect that kind of awful outfit from mariah. She has become the queen of skank.

It's Drew who we expect more of (sometimes).

Elphaba - LOL! And those silver panels? Just icky. It looked like somehting you might find at Windsor Fashions in the mall... (For those that aren't familiar, it's a store full of $100 prom dresses.)

I see your point, touchmeinthemorning...

And WesternSky2, I honestly think it has to do with her weight. Not that she's fat, but the extra weight she's put on seems to settle in her face in odd, jowly ways. Also, when you have put on a few pounds, there are so many ways to still look gorgeous in your clothing...and wearing skin-tight satin that makes you look like an overstuffed sausage is not one of them *sigh*

Western Sky-I don't know how old Mariah is now, but to me the reason she looks this way now is the natural aging process and the gainage of weight. I looked carefully at her face once and it looked a little old-what is she, in her 30's, 40? Not that that's old, I'm older than that. I'm just saying she's thickening and aging.

I like Bjork's swan dress from way-back-when. It was such an F-You to the fashion-obsessed celebrities and media.

Drew's dress was bland, but Mariah Carey's dress was worse. Her breasts were spilling out the sides.

We may disagree on BM, but we are in complete agreement about Bjork. Absolute genius...bordering on performance art. Same with Lara Flynn Boyle's Ballerina on Smack ensemble.

What I don't understand is how you all are appalled at these dresses. I can't be the only one who wants to see one fashion disaster after the next, can I?

I mean...ever since they've stopped inviting Sally Kirkland to these things, I've found the fashion to be boringly tasteful!
