I have to say i was more than a bit skeptical about the update after becoming a huge fan of the original in the 90s. The pilot episode for this new one was a bit iffy but the past 2 episodes have improved so much, its becoming a very fun and trashy guilty pleasure like the original.....so whay is nobody watching?
With the pilot only pulling in 2.3 million, the 2nd episode 1.8 million and this week 1.5 million, it looks like the doors may close on Melrose Place before Heather even gets chance to return in November.

Posted: 9/24/09 at 12:14pmI haven't seen this weeks episode but so far I can't say that it is holding my interest. I was huge fan of the original. Part of me thinks that maybe I have just outgrown the genre but mostly I am thinking that maybe it's because it is not that good.

Heather resurrected the original and I'm sure she'll do the same for this one.
If she doesn't though it'll be over.

The last thing I saw was David at the computer looking at Michael's files. I saw Janes's name and Amanda...then the tape ended. What happened next?? Thank you for the help.

Posted: 9/25/09 at 12:37amIt's barely watchable - so no wonder the numbers keep dropping. I've actually watched all 3 episodes ..... but must admit by the end of the last one, I was more focused on my crossword puzzle.

See im really enjoying it, its camp as tits and looks set to get even more OTT with Ashlee Simpson's Violet becoming stranger by the moment.
The end of episode 3 was what you saw ArtMan, it just eneded with him seeing the files with a few of the old charachters names on and some of the new ones, it ended with David saying something like "what are you up to?"
Next weeks episode with Janes return looks amazing

Posted: 9/25/09 at 5:47pmThank you for the info Songanddanceman2. I asked at least 20 people today and nobody is watching. They all told me they watched in the 90's. I told them alot of the characters from the old show was on the new show and all were clueless. The CW/producers need to do a better job advertising the old characters. Thats what got be to watch the new Beverly Hills 90210 was the old characters. They have decided this season not to use them as much. I think thats a big mistake. That was part of the gimmick.

I watched the first 5 or so episodes of the new 90210, but then I lost interest.
So when is the new Melrose on?

Posted: 9/25/09 at 6:40pmI wasn't remotely a fan of the original, and I don't consider myself a fan prime-time soaps in general, but I'm enjoying it. Then again, I'm only watching because my boyfriend LOVES the original, so I'd thought I'd give this one a shot.

Posted: 9/26/09 at 11:01pmsemi spoiler to those who may have not been following it, but I lost interest after the first two episodes when they killed off Laura Leighton's Sydney. Now I understand they wanted to start the show with a bang, and maybe she did not want to stay on the show longterm, but are they going to be able to keep up with the flashbacks of Sydney? Seeing the old characters come back was the only real reason I was interested.

I loved the original but thought it was a brilliant idea killing Syd off, it opened thje show with a bang and the murder mystery with her in flashbacks is brilliant.
I dont think the show needs the old cast or should rely on them. this is not the old one. It is great to see them however, Jane,Syd, Amanda, Jo and Michael is more than enough back
