I watch B:TAM or B:TGA or Elaine Stritch @ Liberty or BLT or BLT2 or any Tony Awards and I just get so inspired. I know what your feeling.

What do I do with this inspiration? Currently, I am writing two musicals and a play, working on pieces I want to direct, reading a bunch of plays I have been wanting to read for years, and working on monologues/scenes/songs.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

i'm an ok writer. all my friends say me and my brother should write a musical because we are so... well, i guess we are so out there, in the way we think and our humor and i write lyrics alot for fun. me and my friend just come up with parodies of musicals and write little sketches, so i guess i write a little. but i really need a project that inspires me to write a lot and even though i cannot compose something that makes me write lyrics and a book and... well, i really don't know.

We watched some of Broadway: The American Musical in class the other day... it made me want to applaud.
(Partially for the DVD and partially for the fact that we were discussing it in class.)

[title of show] on Broadway. it's time. believe.

It makes me glad I act - even if not professionally - and that my obsession is a healthy and cultured one.

It makes me WISH that I could all of the sudden be in any sure right then and there. The book is great, too, but expenseive. I still reccommend it. It was a Chanukah present from my loverly folks.

It makes me wish I was a part of this. I mean, to have been in the audience when the curtain went up on the first performance of "Oklahoma!" or have seen the performance that made Ethel Merman a star (brain lapse: can't remember what performance that was)... it must be positively thrilling to be able to look back on that and realize you were witnessing history.

Ugh. Why doesn't my history class do fun things? Noo, we get Ms. Matthews screaming about maps, and why the word "history" isn't "herstory." Of course, I'm in Global, anyway...
Anyway, now I'm in the mood to watch Broadway: The American Musical... but I only know where one of my tapes is.
