Addy, Dorothy skates at a rink in Maryland almost every morning (near my parents). Dan (yes, the BinL) adores her and has actually stopped by to watch her skate on countless mornings. Funny!

the entrances into a lutz and a salchow are completely different pip. with a lutz, you go into it skating backwards and then use the toepick to do the jump. i believe a salchow does not use the toepick (and is an "easier" jump).

Dottie or KMF...please correct me if I'm wrong.

SOMMS! I grew up with her! I have 'family movies' of her skating on the local park pond when we were younger.

You can imagine how thrilled we were during the Olympics.

I'd love to see her skate now. Lucky!!
