OK, y'all ... list the non-Broadway records u got for the holidays, as a gift to you or for smeone else, or for yourself while purchasing gifts. Me ... today, while buying the latest Who album for my brother at Best Buy, I saw Jacks Mannequins new one for $12.99, so got it. They opened for Panic at the Disco, and I immediately had to buy their CD.
Cobra Starship also opened (another awesome band), and I got their new album for a friend.

Records? CDs? What are you, from the olden days?

What's the general consensus on Tori's A Piano, anyway? I couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on a box set mainly comprised of songs I already had in one form or another. I also think it's truly unfortunate that many of the truly rare b-sides were left off A Piano, although I'm sure that protects the value of some of her rarer singles. Would love to hear "Zero Point," though.

I still refer to music stores as record stores. After all, we still have "record labels." :) CD ... record ... same thig. Anyway, you do find more and more of todays bands releasing singles -- and sometimes entire albums -- onto vinyl as well as discs.

As for Tori's set, I love her, and am a recent fan wthout any of her albums, so for me, sets like that are great. But labels do the same thing for other artists (release box sets or hits albums with the same material heard over and over again), and it's all junk. I am a huge fan of Aerosmith, but refuse to buy their latest album because the only new tracks are one really new one, and one very old but previously unreleased song. Their contract requires them to release one album each year, though, so...
