It should be an easy win next week....I'm just not getting the appeal of Blake. Yes, he's different, and teenage girls may like him because he's decent looking, but seriously, he just does not have the vocal chops that the others have.

I want Jordin to win; however, Melinda totally deserved to be in the Top 2. I was shocked when I read that. Blake is too corny.

I'm not a fan of Jordin's vocals. Too breathy and too "pitchy" for me. Melinda was flawless, every single week. I find Blake far more entertaining than Jordin (who seems like a very nice girl, and does have talent); I don't think she deserves to be in the finals.

Blake is an OK singer at best, his beat boxing is redonkulous BUT, he does have a great ear for arranging and I think he would make a great record producer.

I'm hoping Blake wins, but I agree that Melinda deserved to. But it doesn't matter--she'll have a career.

Melinda will definitely get a record deal.

Singingbackup is right...I think he'll be better as a record producer or something, even though some of his beats were a little corny. In my opinion, between the two, I see Jordin as having a career as a singer.

I thought it was ironic that Elliott who was also considered the best vocalist last year was voted off at this point in the competition and he performed tonight -- clearly Idol voters don't consider this a singing competition.

I knew this would happen. This should have been Jordin and Melinda in the final. Blake is annoying....but AMERICA voted. If he wins, he'll be another Stoddard, Hicks or my ears are Aikin (sp?...who cares). In the real world, you are better off NOT winning AI. Melinda Doolittle will be just fine as will Jordin. The only people that lose are the parents who have to pay their teenage daughters cell bill.......Oh well. Text away.

nobody deserves to win, now that melinda got the boot
although...if i HAD to choose...jordin gets my vote. the only reason blake is in the finals is because of his (LAME) 'blaker girls'.

The problem with American Idol is that you think you have it figured out...but they always manage to pull a sneak attack and ruin any sort of conclusion you were building up.

While I like Jordin and Blake, I don't get the same impression from them as I do Melinda. That being said, I wish Jordin and Blake the best in the final round, but I doubt I will be voting for either of them. Unless, of course, Blake can do a song that does NOT require beat-boxing in any shape or form. If I do vote, it will more than likely be for Jordin. While she wasn't really my favorite this season, she's stood her ground and done some amazing work.

This is the first time since season 2 that I thought the top 3 finalists deserved to be there. Sure, Blake is not the best singer but when you're looking for a pop star, he certainly has a lot going for him. He's hip, good looking and has a modern sound. I would love to hear what kind of songs he would record when unconstrained by themes and pre-existing song choices. Yes, Melinda is the best singer in the bunch but how marketable is she? What kind of songs will she be recording? At this point, I don't really mind if either Blake or Jordin wins. I've voted for both of them at some point during the competition anyway. It's all up to their performances in the finals now.

And oh yes, I do believe Elliot was the best singer last year and perhaps the best male vocalist in the entire series.

despite the "oh, you must be gay" comments, I still protest against the season that Clay was beaten by "Ruuuuuuuuuuben". I like Clay, I like Carrie, and I love Kelly...but other than that, I'm still debating how most of those people even got in the competition to begin with.

oh yeah, I'm also probably the biggest Taylor Hicks fan ever. The reason I'm glad he won...he didn't choose the same kinds of songs every other competitor would have chosen. We had yet to hear a real blues voice in AI, and I think he brought that to those of us who were wishing for one.

They claim to have several sources that can confirm that American Idol is fixed and that producers can dictate the outcome however they want. They announced yesterday morning that Blake would be voted off tonight and, this morning, they announced who they were told will win American Idol."

So....is this poster going to come back and apologize for posting something that was incorrect through and through? What I don't understand about this goofy belief that somehow the voting is fixed is: Why? What possible reason would fox want anyone OTHER than the most popular on their show? Most popular= Most viewers, most records sold.

I think Jordin will because Blake's act is getting old. His performances weren't solid and they only reason he continues to remain is because he's attractive, but come next week, when Jordin and he are head to head, her voice will blow the beat-boxing Robin Thicke-wannabe out of the water.

Jordin's voice has gotten better and better each week. She continues to bring it and continues to put on great peformances even despite Simon's comments of songs being to old for her [For example: "You'll Never Walk Alone", was brilliant] She has such a great voice and even if she doesn't win, she'll be more like Clay or Bo and have success despite not winning.

I still hope America sees the beat-boxing can't beat a stellar vocal performance, but apparently they can't seeing as how Melinda Doolittle sang rings about Blake Lewis, and yet who went home and who stayed.

I strongly suspect that the voting is reported the way the producers want it to be. I also suspect that about any other show which requires public voting.

Why? For one reason, the people who MIGHT be casting the most votes could be very young kids who have a crush on the way the performer looks, but may have no talent. For a second reason, they like to keep an even keel with boys/girls. (that's why I think they got rid of Melinda).

Being PC could also measure in (think Ruuuuuben/vs Clay).

There are many reasons which come to mind. You never see an accounting firm authorizing the validity of the votes, nor any similar remarks by the show. Until they do, I remain cynical.

I don't think the voting is fixed so much as I think the broadcasts are manipulated to give preference to certain contestants. Who goes first, who goes last, whether they get muted praise or over the top praise, etc. all play into who looks like a strong competitor and who doesn't.
