Brd, graphics artists and musicians have long asserted the superiority of the Mac. But now, I just want a computer that works!!!

I love to tear the computers apart and fix them. I recently failed with my home laptop.

This from the man who just called MAC users nerds?

MAC users are like Range Rover buyers.
My husband has bought non-functioning Macs and fixed them so they worked perfectly! (In fact, right now, I'm on a laptop he bought for $100 and repaired.)
He has been such a strong advocate for Macs that the only "major" argument we've had in years was over my NOT wanting to buy another one when my last computer died. Well, TODAY he said his Mac-Love had finally come to a screeching halt. So if HE is fed up, you know it's time to move on! (Why, oh why, is THIS the thing I had to be "right" about???)

Well, despite his MAC problem, I always side the the husband.
Thanks for that bit of info, Brd. I'll remember NOT to use you when I file for divorce!

Fair and balanced like FOX.
GREAT! I finally do the switch, and now even the staunch mac supporter is giving it up!
I really like it other than the fact that it's not connecting. But I'm not certain it's my laptop with issues - having trouble with my pc connection as well. It might be a DSL issue. I never had these many problems with internet when I had cable internet.
DD. It is not the laptop your having issues with. It is the airport. Try going to the airport utility application and restarting it. I will check with you in the morning.
I turn airport off and on again... it sees the network, but it says it can't connect. When I try to re-do the connection, it says that I have the incorrect password.
It is reminiscent of the issues I had when I first moved here.
Sorry to hear about all of the computer problems.
Funny Mac story - Last year I moved down by my dad in FL for a month or so when he was hurt. Chris flew down for a week and looked at my step-mom's iMac lap top. She couldn't get it to turn on in over a month. So when Chris left to come back, he packed it into his suitcase to work on in his laboratory. He arrives in NJ, unpacks it, and it turns on. So he plays around with it and it starts working great. Packs it back up and sends it back to FL. My step mom opens the package, and it won't turn on. **Doesn't sound as funny written as when it was going on, oh well**
Good morning!
Morning. Have a good day all.
DD.. It is still I believe a airport issue. try this.. behind the airport.. right next to where you connect your dsl.. there is a small little whole. Stick a needle or pin in there and press for about a minute or until the airport lights blink really fast. After you do that go to your airport set up application and rset. You should be fine.
DAME - I know you haven't been feeling well, so I changed my avatar to make you smile.

Good morning, sometimes I am amazed at the amount of time that lawyers wait for their cases to be called.
Cold here for a few more days, it is just bitter.
