I was going to ask soon if anyone had experience with this. I'm going to be getting a Treo/Que/etc. soon as soon as we pick out one I like. I wanted to know if message boards like this are easily accessible.

How was LM?
I don't know why I love that show so much! Totally not my type of musical, but I have now seen it 22 times over the years and absolutely love it. Celia is the best part :)

L, could it be the great story and the gorgeous music?
The music is amazing.
And the story is universal.
With good musicians, I could watch that over and over again. Though I have to admit, I only think I have seen it four or five times.
Evening all.
Definitely not the story, but I love the music!
Well, redemption, love, revolution, struggle, poverty, honor, injustice, and then, "to love another person is to see the face of God".
Those are all pretty strong themes.
And the music is glorious.
I remember watching it during the first Iraq war and during "Bring Him Home" there was not a dry eye in the house. I imagine it is even more dramatic now.
I love this show. Probably the show I've seen on tour more than anything. And that's a meager 5 or 6 times.
Saw the last leg of the tour in May, and it was fantastic. One of the best...
It is a good story for all those things, YWIW, but I don't like fighting or blood or gunshots or anything like that, so this is not my kind of thing.
Can I just say ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
Yet another storm is going through today. There are still lots of people without power, and we have another system coming through tonight... rain and winds up to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Yes, that is right.
We do have a wee bit different tastes!
I find the ending scene utterly amazing when all three are together, and the one is noticeably absent.
The first time I saw it I had only limited background on the book (we did not read it in school for some reason) and was just awe struck)
Oh well, off to prepare for work tomorrow. Unlike other folks, I have all of these year-end contracts that have to get done because of all of them have to be signed by the 31st for revenue recognition rules. Everyone else gets to take it easy right about now. Me, I get to relax on when the new year rolls around!
Stay safe, DD!
YWIW, I don't know what you were just talking about, but ok.
I'm going to sleep, night!
You... I'm on the same boat. Getting everything done that needs to get done during the two weeks I'm away.
'night L
L, in order for the companies to properly to book revenue, the contracts have to actually be signed by the end of the fiscal quarter. So, all deals have to be finalized by the end of the quarter, or if is the last quarter of the year, by the end of the year.
Part of my job includes negotiating software and hardware licenses for the company. So, the terms and conditions have to be finalized, and pricing terms and conditions finalized, and everything signed, before the year is out. There are about three contracts currently in play right now.
Some of the companies that had issues with restating earnings did so because they were reporting earnings in quarters where there earnings were not actually earned - for example, the contract was not actually finalized until mid January, but they added the numbers to December in order to make sure they met targets for Wall Street. We don't really care, except we get better pricing the closer it gets to the end of the quarter or end of the fiscal year as vendors get a little more nervous about meeting their projected numbers for investors.
(I am not sure if that made more or less sense!).
I know that probably sounds really boring to you, but it actually is kind of interesting to me.
My current headache...
I have been negotiating a contract with a vendor since August. Three times I've been given the green light by my company to rush things through and place the PO/sign contract. And each time after I tell the vendor I need to rush, the company turns the green to red.
This week we actually got the contract finalized and through legal approval. I got the appropriate papers signed off on, everything is a go. I got a call yesterday that they are now holding off our program until March. I think my contact at the vendor is going to stangle me! I am so dreading making this phone call today!
Good morning everyone!!
L - I love Les Mis. It's the only show I've seen more than once!
Wow, good luck with that Tink! And you too, YWIW!!!
Got my tickets for Wedding Singer tonight, now back to sleep!
Tink, I feel your pain.
I get stuck spending hours reviewing and revising contracts, only to be told, "well, we decided not to go that way."
Arrrgh.
Your vendor will not be happy, but what are you going to do.
Exactly! Oh well, then next time we want to try again with this vendor, they'll hike up their rates, and rightfully so! Then my up-lines will complain it's to high and blame the vendor. The vicious corporate cycle, lol!
Tink... I hear ya. I've been trying to get us a new copier for the office, and they keep on giving me the run-around. I was hoping to have it by the end of November, and now it doesn't seem to happen until January at the earliest.
Two more work days... then vacation. Yay!

Good morning, all. Easy day today. Just one 2 hour gig in downtown LA. And then I'm OFF tomorrow! Woo-hoo!
Good luck to Tink and YWIW on their respective work projects!
And for the record, Les Mis is the only Broadway show I've seen more than once, as well. (Meaning, on Broadway. I'm not counting all the different regional productions I've seen of certain shows, 'cause friends were in them, and I've gone to support. Speaking of which, remind me to NEVER see I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change ever again, OK?)
You didn't like that Erika? I loved it when I saw it this summer!

I didn't hate it, I mean it's cute and all, but it's just not the sort of thing you can see more than once, imho, and I've seen it 5 times now. :-P (I'm not a huge fan of skit-type shows, in general.)
I still need to see that.
